First light with my new C9,25

Jan,

That is sweet!! I love my C925 and it took a Mewlon 250 to go away from it. You are going to have many wonderful sessions with it I think!

Barlow lens question

Posted By Paul Maxson

I use the Televue 3x barlow with my Mewlon. It works quite nice and would give a decent scale in a C11. You can also use extension tubes with the 3x to add focal length when seeing permits. The 4x Powermate is an awesome "barlow" also but lots more expensive.

Registax problems

Posted By Paul Maxson

Mike,

I got this from Wes. He showed me a codec from Lead Technologies that turns my 2gig Avi's into 70meg files, no compression. I've compared before and after and have seen absolutely no difference. I can install the codec (cost of $10) on my system and Streampix picks it up. I use it for all my avi captures now. Also, Lead makes a converter program that will convert from any codec to any other codec you have installed on your computer. I just love this program and use it a lot!! Here are the URL's for the codec and converter.

http://www.captureandconvert.com/

and

http://www.leadcodecs.com/Codecs/LEAD-MCMP-MJPEG.htm

Hope that helps. I have processed 7500 frame Avi's in Registax using this setup.

P.S. Wes probably can give more technical details, I'm not up on that....I just know that it works. grin
