My ObamaCare is 22% more. Than last year. Except now, there is no other choice to shop it against. Thank you, Obama's idiot voters.

And that's after overcharging people like me to pay for the subsidized while preventing me from shopping for healthcare on the free market.

It will cost the federal government – taxpayers, that is – $50,000 for every person who gets health insurance under the Obamacare law, the Congressional Budget Office revealed on Monday.
The number comes from figures buried in a 15-page section of the nonpartisan organization's new ten-year budget outlook.
The best-case scenario described by the CBO would result in 'between 24 million and 27 million' fewer Americans being uninsured in 2025, compared to the year before the Affordable Care Act took effect.
Pulling that off will cost Uncle Sam about $1.35 trillion – or $50,000 per head.

Yeah I saw that this morning. Just the facts. I only wish that he added a rational estimate of what the real unemployment rate is.

Inflation. We've all heard how low it is. We all go shopping and pay necessary bills and know that prices are going up by a lot more than 0.8% per year.

•CPI no longer measures full inflation for out-of-pocket expenditures.
•With the misused cover of academic theory, politicians forced significant underreporting of official inflation, so as to cut annual cost-of-living adjustments to Social Security, etc.
• Politicians look to expand further the concept of artificially-suppressed cost-of-living adjustments in current budget-deficit negotiations, through the use of the Chained-CPI (see Special C-CPI Supplement at end of this document).
•Use of the CPI to adjust retirement benefits, private income or to set investment goals impairs the ability of retirees, income earners and investors to stay ahead of inflation.
•Understated inflation used in estimating inflation-adjusted growth has created the illusion of recovery in reported GDP.

Apparently it was Newt Gingrich and Alan Greenspan that came up with the new government method in 1995 as a way to reduce the deficit.

Then they provide an alternate CPI that more comprehensively includes consumer expenses they way they used to be used, without the heavy adjustments that the government now applies to reduce it, and that make it a useless metric for what it was once intended.

In summary, Obama’s budget claims $1.809 trillion in deficit savings. Take away $874 billion accruing from accounting tricks and there’s about $935 billion left.

Here’s how Edward Lorenzen, a top analyst for the Committee For a Responsible Federal Budget puts it: “The budget significantly overstates the amount of deficit reduction that would be achieved by using a baseline which effectively ignores the costs of extending or repealing certain policies and assuming a large increase in spending in the future to claim savings from extending spending limits after 2021.”

Don't you think the word "massive" is a bit shrill for a modest shopping center with theater?

This reminds me. I visited the Black Canyon of the Gunnison in Colorado in October. I never knew it was there until that trip. It's the steepest canyon in America and we'll worth a visit.

This has been going on for a long time. What's new is that somebody got the media to notice. They gave a small number of examples, but I hope that people come to realize that this problem is pervasive throughout the temperature data, that it's actually much worse than just temperature manipulation because half of their raw temperature data is now fabricated by interpolating from other stations (the z-data) instead of read from real thermometers. Then every few years they modify their modified data, and the result is always the same: make the past even cooler relative to the present. Please don't fall victim to their "homogenization" explanations, as none of them explain the large amount of deviations that they apply, and as far as UHI, after arguing for years that it doesn't exist, now they say they are using it -- except that it does the opposite of what they say. They use it to warm the cooler stations, instead of to scale bake recent heat due to urban growth. So obviously it wouldn't make the past cooler. Listening to their explanations is like listening to Josh Earnest explain that the Paris deli attack was an attack against random people by random people of no particular faith.



Look at the chart and remember: all the all-time heat records from the 1930's never happened, the thousands of people that died from heat stroke in '34 and '36 never happened, the nationwide drought never happened, the dust bowl never happened. 2014 was the hottest year on record. Keep saying that to yourself while you bow towards Gavin Schmidt in his high office above Seinfeld's deli in NY, and you shall join the ranks of the true believers.
