Re: Low alt Jupiter

Robert,

Except for the gain, our settings are very similar. I think my gain setting is about 12 or so. I would be glad to exchange settings files for comparison if you would like to do that.

Thanks!!!

Advice on Imaging Mercury

Steve,

The one and only time I imaged Mercury, I used a red filter...if I can get clear skies on April 8, I may have to try again and see what I can do.

Alan,

Very nice results! Sometimes I think taking a so-so image and turning it out great is more satisfying than processing an already great image. 2am is a wonderful time to be creative!

Re: Difference between DMK 21AF04 & 21BF04???

Alan,

I know you use a Mac, but I wonder what software on the Windows side is used for image capture? I wonder if Streampix works with this camera.

Hi Robert -

The cameras are identical in design and performance - the B model has an external trigger port that you will not need. I would have chosen the A model if it had been available when I bought mine.

Mike,

Very nice!! I'm still getting seams with beta Registax, not sure why. I even got a seam when I did a 2 point MAP on Mars with both boxes overlapping...I set the seams setting to 10, what do you use successfully?
