Unless you are your state's governor Abbott who is pulling a political stunt causing a huge four day backup on trucks entering the USA from Mexico. A million dollars of goods enter the US from Mexico every minute and these unnecessary inspections are causing delays in perishable goods like produce, especially strawberries, and car parts for USA factories hurting folks livelihoods in Texas and elsewhere.Originally Posted by James Lacey
Every nation in the world is suffering from inflation right now. Is Biden responsible for all of it?
I think most reasonable people see that a lot of what is going on is outside of any President's direct control. Still, there is no doubt that the economy matters to a President's approval rating and, ultimately, his party's success.
There is some good news, though. The world market overshot oil futures, and gas prices are coming down. Gas prices were a large part of the inflation numbers, and the recent downturn in gas prices is not yet factored into the inflation equation. There is also lots of evidence that supply-chain and inventory problems are easing but not yet fully factored into inflation numbers. The conventional wisdom is that next quarter's inflation numbers will show good news and that the current inflation numbers are not entrenched.

Why did Trump whiff on the question, or why won't he call out Putin? I did not see the interview in question, but my guess is that he won't criticize Putin because Trump is a narcissistic buffoon. I don't think he is (or ever was) under Putin's control as many left wing conspiracy theorists still believe. I do think that Trump is so self-centered that he won't criticize Putin because he fears that would be interpreted as some sort of roundabout support of Biden.
In other words, Trump would rather do anything than be seen as possibly supporting Biden or his efforts. It is self-centered and horrific beyond belief in my opinion.

Aww, now some of them won’t be able to spend their 4th of July vacation in Moscow. I’m sure some of them were looking forward to it if they missed the last field trip.Originally Posted by Rod KaufmanThe Russians sanctioned various members of congress in retaliation for the sanctioning of various Russian but those who were sanctioned and voted against bills supporting Ukraine were sanctioned anyway.
