Your hatred of Bush is pathetic. Lighten up. Just remember in the next election my vote will cancel out yours, as I’m doing very well under the republicans. While he may not be perfect, and he may not talk as pretty as backstabbing Bill, he's still way better than any democrat that I've ever seen.

But, congratulations to the troops and to the normal Iraqi people.

Doug - I don't think you can discuss or logically debate creation. You are obviously brainwashed and we can only hope you are right, because there seems to be no other avenue open to you. You are stuck in your rituals and Bible study; you should go live with the Amish. Do you really own and use a telescope – the devil’s tool of deceit?

In one respect you are lucky. If your angry, jealous, vengeful God is the true God you win your everlasting life, but if my vision of God is more correct, then you still win because my God would not hold trivial things against you and certainly wouldn't punish you for doing what you believe is right.

Doug, you sound like the church of medieval times. Lighten up. If there is a God that watches over us, or cares about us, I really doubt if he is the a$$hole you make him out to be. I think he would be above that kind of behavior.

If God burns all the Jews in hell then I guess he probably has Hitler at his right hand and I for one want no part of it.

Brien, Paul, those were very good thoughtful responses. I do like to contemplate God but not in ridged framework where some suppose that ALL the answers lie in the written words of man.

I've said it before - If the purpose and plan of the Universe were laid out before us I doubt we could still comprehend it, let alone find it completely laid out in man written scriptures. If God gave us our brains then he made them inquisitive for a reason.

I think a great many of us are much farther from the breadline than a paycheck or two. If you're not then you should be a democrat because they like to take money from those of us that have worked to be NOT that close to the breadline and give it to those that seem to find themselves there so easily.

I thought it was interesting that on the CNN Web poll yesterday 60% of the respondents said they were NOT going to watch the Bush. (Bush bashers no doubt.)

Today 60% of the respondents said the speech was "poor". I assume this is probably the same 60% that didn't watch it but felt qualified to comment on it today.

Yes I agree, the format for this event is a little too steeped in ritual and promenade.

You all know I am a Bush supporter but I don't agree with everthing he says. I think that would be an unreasonable expectation. But I like a man that sticks to his guns. He also was delt a pretty tough hand with 911 shortly after being elected. It would be interesting to know how others might have delt with it. Not an easy job for sure.

My understanding is that "blinking" satellites are tumbling "space junk." I have seen a few of those myself.

I read somewhere that if it "tumbles" its junk.

Last weekend my nephew fell off an inner tube while sledding down a hill. By a freak chance he broke his neck.

He's lying in a hospital bed with his head in a halo fighting to not be a vegetable the rest of his life. His outlook is bleak, although he has been able to move his arms slightly so we are hopeful that he will at least regain some use in his arms, and if lucky he may get some use of his legs but that is totally up in the air at this point.

Someone actually said that God must have had some plan for this to happen. Plan?!! I do not believe for one moment that any God would make this part of his "plan".

But IF I'm wrong, then SCREW him and he can kiss my a$$ if this was his "plan." Anybody out there actually believe this was God's plan?

Forgive me but I'm am majorly bummbed about all this.

I give up. With the exception of a few thinking human beings the bulk of you are just a bunch of liberal pansy whiners. You’re probably tree huggers, and gay rights activists, and I'm sure you are members in good standing with PETA. You want the government to make all your decisions for you, you want to be taxed to the hilt, and you think the way to Utopia is paved with tofu, mineral water, and jogging.

I can't even start a simple thread without the damn whiners turning everything into a Bush Bash.

You don't have an ounce of common sense between all of you. Your whole political sense is dictated by some juvenile club type logic.

When I start to see some sensible posts on here, where people think with their heads and not with their misguided emotions I might return. I've tried to be civil on this forum but the whiners are too much for old man like me to put up with. This was a great country and you are doing your best to destroy it by turning it into a “politically correct nation of people with no common sense”.
