Any small business can stop suddenly.

Try ordering from a UA dealer.

The UA mount I had was high-quality.

I had the Fujinon 16x70 for 10 years. Sold with regrets now.
Currently have Swaro 8x50. No dissapointment at all with either. Just tired arms sometimes.

Good luck,
John

I just checked the website. Good to see they are still in business. I enjoyed the display at NEAF.

Counterbalance issues...

Posted By john raymond

I added springs to my former Discovery 12.5" dob, worked very well. The only imbalance after that was when the scope was near horizontal. I was using 2" naglers, 50mm optical finder, and Telrad. The spring setup was similar to the Orion XT dobs.

Good Luck

Eyepiece Musings/Snowed Over

I have a pair of the 15 WA Ultima. I never suspected the existence of these ep's until last year. Found two on Amart. Back when Orion advertised the Ultimas and Ultrascopics, the Ultimas went from 12.5mm to 18mm. The Ultras were in steps of 5: 20,15,10mm. I assumed the 15 Ultima did not exist due to the overlap. This was late 90's-early 2000's.

The 15 WA is very similar to the Televue 15 WF in small size , excellent views, and tight eye relief. I dont use them enough to really compare. I prefer the TV 15 plossl.

Jeff

What size sketchbook are you using?
What size circle?

I use a 5.5 x 8.5" book, six 2-inch circles drawn with a 2" eyepiece skirt. Im thinking two 4-inch circles per page may be better.
