Hi, Alan -- From an optical testing system of some sort? From a high quality spotlight device? Probably not projection lenses.
Is the image field fairly flat when you test them with an eyepiece?
The wide field would be useful for my hydrogen alpha/image intensifier observations but I can't think of much else.

Hi, Joe -- This may be the long way around but if you have a 12V to AC inverter you could use Canon's CA-PS700N AC adapter. It plugs into any AC outlet and its business end looks like a Canon battery. In my 1000D there's an exit port for its cable. -- works perfectly.

Hi, Mark -- There's more to be learned about globular clusters. I've read that most are composed of 'metal' poor stars which means that they formed longer ago than stars in open clusters. And it's been suggested that some globular clusters are actually remnants of minor galaxies which were incorporated into our Milky Way galaxy. So, they may be very different animals than open clusters.
