i get a good hoot over all the fuss about some public figure telling some (usually media) person where he/she should get off...

i remember a pic on the front page of the Chicago Tribune several years ago of then-VP (and G.R. Ford's life-insurance policy, but i digress...) Nelson Rockefeller giving the stinky-finger salute to someone off-camera... a classic and i believe a first for the Trib at least.

Can we all say Tempest-in-a-Teapot?

It was already booked, but negotiations are underway for '05...

- well, that feature was usually provided by -shall we say?- some of the more colourful participants... and don't forget the announcements right out of M*A*S*H, Astrofester....

-Join the line... there is such a thing as being too organised.

My 2 cents? Why not just KEEP IT SIMPLE? There are some other very-well run, and almost D-I-Y basic star parties put on by various groups nationwide... among my favourites have been WOW, NSP, and IDSP...
there's a lesson there somewhere.
If one wants to have more party than stars, i hear that Japan puts on events that have real a carnival atmosphere.

Done ranting now, too... i feel better now.
