The Hammer and the Dance..... Why mitigation is not enough.

Why? You seem to have what you consider an informed position based on your posts, I see no reason you should be "stunned" that anyone else would.....I know what I believe the situation is as well, are you "stunned" about that as well?

"You don't have a brain to think with?  You have to now get input from others?  Why?

I don't need to check with someone else to put forth what I believe."

I'm just reading the words he writes.  If you read them differently, fine.  I am sure Rich will come on to deflect, dodge, mis-quote and so on.  I am sure that he will shout out that he is the most well informed man ever to post on the forum.  But I am just reading the words he wrote.  Quoting them accurately and in their entirety too.

Bullshit.....that is not what he was saying and I am pretty sure you know it.  He questioned your claim that you needed input from others here before offering your opinion. We *ALL* have an opinion right now based on what we have gathered, that is not to say it is necessarily a correct opinion but we (including you) have one.....

While I agree the situation requires fast, decisive, responsible action I tend to agree with Rich that we should not be throwing the entire nation into a financial meltdown over an infection whose mortality rate is far less than others we have been thru before without doing so......

Damn......yes people are gonna die and looking at the projected potential numbers (projected fucking guesses) it could be said a lot. Compared to the population on the other hand it is a fairly small number compared to some previous pandemics. IS anything being accomplished by arguing the unknown? Very damn little......

What makes you think that I or Rich are not upset at all the PORK they were stuffing in the bill? Are you under the impression that would be something new? While such things certainly come from both sides of the aisle you libtards  are certainly the worst about it. I just dont see the point in bitching about it as crooked self-serving politicians are still gonna do what they do.....

Russia also sent medical teams to Italy as well.
What does all of this mean? Their early containment efforts worked and they have an abundance of supplies to provide not only for their own country but for other  countries as well. Mr Putin heeded the warnings of his intell services early in January and acted accordingly whereas our president ignored his and we're all screwed as a result.

Trump started implementing travel restrictions in Jan as well but of course you have forgotten all about that right? Forgotten as well the cries from the left that he was being racist for doing so? Its is fascinating how you and Lacy's memory is so selective lol

1st reported and confirmed case in China was Jan 10th, 1st confirmed case in the US was Jan 20th.....Trump started putting travel restrictions in place before the end of the month......seems reasonable and proactive to me.

Sadly it is going to get a lot worse before this thing peaks, I am particularly sad to see that GA as of today is pretty far up the ladder in terms of total reported cases ie 11th place....

While I continue to work, I am doing my best to limit my work to unoccupied homes if at all possible (most of my work is on new construction with a fairly deep backlog and mostly no one else is on site) and only making service calls where the occupants agree to vacate the premises while I am there and only if it is to address something essential or safety related......I wear disposable gloves and a mask if it is an occupied residence as well and use new gloves in each case. I have plenty of gloves as I buy them in bulk and had just restocked with 500 pair about a week before this thing hit......Masks on the other hand are more limited and at the rate I am using them up can last maybe a month, perhaps two.
