Brits on Iraq

Posted By Rod Kaufman

As per the link from the LA Times, it can be seen that the Brits have affixed responsibility and accountability for the debacle in Iraq on Rumsfeld and Bush. It's interesting to know that Bush's decision (if you can dignify his thinking as decision-making) to turn Iraq over to the department of defense rather than the state department for post-war planning, is described as a waste by the Brits. How true.

Another high level officer from the British military has chimed in on the "fatally flawed" Bush plan on Iraq.

Larry Craig, Again!

Posted By Rod Kaufman

Just when the Republicans thought they could breathe a sigh of relief, not only is Larry Craig recanting his guilty plea, he is now reportedly considering recanting his resignation!
KNX news radio reported that Senator Craig is giving serious consideration to retracting his resignation in the next few days.
The Republican leadership must be having a heart attack over this, if not at least gas!
The other day a psychiatrist on the news stated that fifty percent of Americans need psychiatric care. Well, there you have it.

Bush: "We're kicking A-- in Iraq."

Posted By Rod Kaufman

Bush's comment has the same meaning as those of his cronies:
Rumsfeld: "We got 'em on the run."
Cheney: "The insurgency is in its last throes."
As per Bush's latest comment: all of the posts in this thread and the associated ones on the war in Iraq are irrelevant: because, heck, we will have this thing wrapped up in no time...

Bush: "We're kicking A-- in Iraq."

Posted By Rod Kaufman

George W Bush, man of many words, gave his assessment of the situation in Iraq to the leader of Australia: "We're kicking A-- in Iraq!
While the astromart terms of service prohibit ME from printing the expletive, it's entirely within the extensive vocabulary of our leader, along with other famous quotes such as "bring em' on! and the "sh--" heard around the world.
The succinct summary by our commander-in-chief obviously brings the situation in Iraq into crystal clarity. The "decider" has spoken, definitively.
George W Bush, a president and statesman, and a man a Bush voter can truly appreciate...

Underestimating Your Enemies

Posted By Rod Kaufman

Francis Twownsend, national security advisor/aide to Bush, has characterized Bin Laden as being "virtually impotent." Her estimation, which just happens to match that of Dick Cheney's several years ago, is that Bin Laden might be in charge of some cave somewhere, but that's about it.
I think Francis should be summoned to the White House by Bush who should be demanding her resignation.
It ought to be clear to anyone that Bin Laden, who has evaded capture by the best efforts of intelligence/law enforcement/military et al, poses a serious threat to the national security of this country.
What are they smoking in the White House these days?...

Thompson Overtakes Guiliani

As Bill Clinton said on Larry King live on CNN:"The Republicans have succeeded in demonizing the Democrats."

Thompson Overtakes Guiliani

Posted By Rod Kaufman

Fred Thompson, who hasn't even appeared in a Republican debate, is already in a statistical tie with Guiliani and he leads Guiliani when it comes down to brass tacks with the most important Republican element: The Evangelicals.
The guy is already being hailed as the next president by his base, most of whom don't even know anything about the guy, other than the fact he was some kind of a Republican, part-time senator and actor. In other words, he's perfect!
I can see it now: President Thompson, in a Ronald Reagon tradition(Mr Gorbachov tear down these walls!)proudly exclaiming to the faithful: Mr Bin Laden tear up your Koran and read the Bible!
Look for the new Republican movie candidate for president, starring Fred Thompson, opening on Sundays in neighborhood churchs across the country...

Greenspan Blasts Bush Economy

Posted By Rod Kaufman

Greenspan faulted Bush for "depriving the nation of checks and balances" by failing to veto a single bill in six years of Republican rule. He also blasted Bush for failing to include the secretary of the treasury in economic policymaking. :S
Greenspan on the Republican loss in November: "They swapped principle for power." "They ended up with neither." "They deserved to lose."...

Greenspan Blasts Bush Economy

Posted By Rod Kaufman

Alan Greenspan, economist to both Republican and Democratic presidents, derided Bush's handling of the economy by failing to rein in the Republican congress who spent our money like drunken sailors. He also showered Bill Clinton with praise on his ability to comprehend economic forces for a better future for our country.
