YOUR side has been touting it as a joke or pseudoscience. Do I need to remind you that your buddy here said about Hydroxychoroquine, "these Doctors are engaging in wishful thinking at best or grasping at straws at worst".
Those were his words. That's pretty definitive in saying that the HCQ is a joke and doesn't work at all. Saying that a doctor is 'grasping at straws' if they are using it doesn't amount to his claim now, that he never said it may not be effective.
I think the words above speak differently.
Greg is also less of a hard rock "I think these numbers are way overblown" than I am.
I'll stick to my guns that these numbers ARE such that there doesn't need to be the hysterics that have been going along with them.
Greg is way more open than I am to the possibility that this virus is really, really bad.
I was on the phone yesterday with a buddy in Denver whose Son and Fiancee' seemed to have contracted what now appears to have been the Coronavirus.
I didn't even know about their incident until yesterday.
They were in Vermont vacationing, and became sick.
This was Early February. They both were in bad shape. He told me he picked them up at the airport and they looked terrible
He told me yesterday that his son relayed to him the idea, that he and she were VERY ill.
The symptoms were right along line with Corona symptoms. He said they were sick for 2 weeks.
Perhaps they had it. Greg, the father did not get infected or if he did, he never had symptoms. My buddy Greg has this belief that he is a "carrier"
Coincidentally, this date in time coincides to the time Greg's wife became very ill. It was in Mid February. My guess is that Greg passed it on to her.
I was up there at that time and I told him "you need to get her to the Doctor as she's in bad shape". They never went.
I'm looking forward to the day testing comes out to see if one "Had it" at one time. My guess is that his son and the Fiancee' did in fact have it.
It is possible that I had it sometime in the past few months.
Greg has been one of the more reasonable, open individuals about the seriousness of this illness.
I believe we agree on even more than you think we do.....
There is little doubt in my mind that the media and much of DC is using this to gin up fear using statistics and public manipulation for political purposes.
90% of those who have had to be hospitalized have underlying conditions....yet you dont hear that being mentioned by anyone even though the data shows it. Instead they try to convince us that it is deadly dangerous to the majority.......The reality is for most it is simply a new variety of the flu and in most of those cases even mild.....
That said it is still very dangerous IMO but simply because of how contagious it is and the fact that nearly noone has defenses against it.....it is very close to a not if but when for everyone. The primary danger is still letting it proliferate too fast and overwhelm the medical end of things.
