Iran Becoming New Iraq

Posted By Rod Kaufman

Iran is rapidly becoming the new Iraq on the campaign trail:
http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/10/25/iran.campaign/index.html
Since the entire region has become massively destabilized through the incredible stupidity of the Bush administration, we now have candidates such as Mitt Romney calling for "bombarding" Iran!
Will it ever stop?...

IAEA: No Evidence Iran Nuke Program

Posted By Rod Kaufman

The chief of the IAEA states he has seen no evidence that Iran is building a nuclear weapons program:

Aren't these guys the same people who told us Iraq didn't have nuclear weapons of mass destruction before the US invaded?

See Dick Go Hunting

Posted By Rod Kaufman

Dick Cheney was back at it the other day. No, it wasn't another hunt for intell on Iranian weapons of mass destruction. Rather, it was a break in the mundane, everyday routine of analyzing raw intelligence data, secretly preventing the public's right to know who visits his office, and claiming that our economy can't possibly be hurt by $100.00/barrel of oil.
It was Dick's day to go "hunting" at the gun club. Basically, the "club" is similar to a trout pond where the "well-heeled" patrons can't help but bag their helpless game.
So what if there was that pesky confederate flagg haning on a wall in a garage.
We all know that all of the patrons at that club are there for the sport: trudging through mile after mile of hilly terrain in camo, stalking their prey while remaining stealthy in their blinds.

Questioning Bush's Mental Health

Posted By Rod Kaufman

After flipping through "Bush On The Couch" at a bookstore, it seems more people than just a psychiatrist are questioning Bush's mental stability:
http://www.philly.com/philly/hp/news_update/20071030_Kucinich_Time_question_Bushs_mental_health.html
Perhaps it's just his persona. The ex-president of Mexico, Vicente Fox, called Bush a "windshield cowboy", an uncomplimentary term for what amounts to a phony. Basically, Fox recounted how Bush tried to ride a horse like a cowboy but Fox said he was clearly torturing the animal.
Remember, 49 billion more for the war in Iraq and no tax on smokes to pay for health insurance for kids of middle class families. Seems reasonable to me...

The U2s Are Back!

Posted By Rod Kaufman

I'm getting that nostalgic feeling now that I've read the US is flying U2 spy planes over Turkey, just like we did during the Cuban missile crisis. Not only that but we've now got Russian president Putin comparing the placement of US "defensive" missles near Russian borders as the same thing as the Cuban missile crisis.
The Bush administration wouldn't even give a rat's butt if we weren't in Iraq but those who fail to learn the lessons of histroty are doomed to repeat them.

The Draft Resurrected

Posted By Rod Kaufman

The draft has been resurrected again...for diplomats serving in the US State Department who don't want any part of the US embassy in Iraq:
http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/10/31/state.department.iraq/index.html
You gotta read what these guys are saying, "incoming is coming every" or "death sentence."
Not to mention the fact that most of the diplomats had to hear about the draft from the news media, probably because their bosses were too afraid to inform them personally...

Saudi's: 9/11 Preventable

Posted By Rod Kaufman

The Saudi's claim that 9/11 as well as the main attack, thus far, against Britain was preventable if US and British officials interacted with their Saudi Arabia counterparts in a meaningful way.
I find it hard to believe that Condi Rice, national security adviser at the time of 9/11, and now diplomat to the world, could have possibly missed this one. Not to mention Dick Cheney, whose penchant for devouring raw intelligence led us to our future in Iraq, could have possibly ignored the overtures of cooperation with our partners in the middle east.
Nope, this has to be some kind of a misunderstanding...
