Covid....Food for thought....Posted By Greg Shaffer |
Some more food for thought......
We depend on migrant workers both legal and illegal to get the crops out of the fields. Due to government policies being affected crops are going to be going bad in the fields, starting with watermelons, cantaloupes and going right on up the chain to daily food staples.
Most Americans are not hungry yet, but it is coming.
Planting cycles dont turn on a dime and ripe crops dont wait. We get this food when its ready or it rots.
Stimulus checks are NOT going to buy food that simply isnt there.....Corporate bailouts wont fix it either.
The only thing that will is the manpower to get the crops in. We are headed towards a hunger problem that has not been seen since the Civil War. The only fix for this is for the politicians to start lifting the restrictions and let people get back to work.
Even if it means Covid-19 remains a problem or even gets worse. We gotta eat....Which means we’re going to have to insist that the politicians hang their Mussolini costumes back up in the closet and magnanimously permit us to get back to our lives.
