To say "other than field of view and magnification" doesn't leave much left over. The Pan 41 is an under-rated eyepiece that lives in the shadow of the Nagler 31. Most people would get one or the other. Myself, I think that having an eyepiece which delivers the most fov you can get in your scope is worthwhile.
But of course one should possibly get both. Myself I prefer the XWs and have the 30XW and the 40XW and use them both extensively. The Pan 41 is very respectable. If the 40XW didn't exist I'd have the Pan 41.

Pentax you say? Why foam? I keep posting this when this subject comes up to remind folks that foam is not necessary. It has certain disadvantages, like getting cruddy. A friend uses an insulated box with plexiglass shelves; to keep the eyepieces warm and dew free he puts a microwaved foot warmer (bean bag) into the bottom.
In the design below the compete Pentax line is housed as well as some other eyepieces and items such as diagonals. No caps, no bolt cases, everything stays clean when the box is closed. The heating strip is there in case I decide I need it for anti-dew purposes.
One item of note: when I was designing the box I was faced with making an "assortment of two inch and 1.25 inch holes" which might not be the right choice as the collection changed, or making everything two inch. I decided to go with all-two inch and to get each eyepiece its own adapter. This has made field use much simpler, and it's practical for the box, any eyepiece goes in any hole, as do the diagonals. Stellarvue makes the best 1.25 to 2" adapters for Pentax especially, with the long barrels.

I sought to purchase one of these but there was a "dry spell" in the listing and ended up with an FS128 instead.
I do own a Vixen ED102SS f/6.5.
The Vixen scopes are really seriously under-rated in most forums. I guess good reliable quality, reasonable prices, and being able to meet demand aren't tickets to stardom.
They're not underrated in the sense of deprecated. I guess under-appreciated is a better word. The "fit and feel" of very high end scopes can be achieved with a Moonlite crayford which will cost a few hundred bucks.
Particularly if you're a visual observer, I think Vixens are an excellent choice.
