First H-alpha shot

Posted By Larry Durst

Keith,
Congrats on entering the realm of Ha. It's an amazing thing! I'll also bet there's lots more data lurking in there. Have you tried curves (in Photoshop, GIMP or elsewhere)? It can really help bring out the midrange.
Nice going,
Larry

Dan,
Looks like you're having fun with some new equipment. That's a terrific dramatic image. Looks like Cygnus season is in full swing!

Dennis,
Looks like you're back to your comet hunter habits! That motion sure is quite dramatic in your movie. Thanks for another excellent presentation.

M92 - Killing Time

Incredible color, remarkable resolution. Just beautiful. How much post processing are you doing on your globs to bring out the stars versus just getting the focus finely tuned? (It's so easy for them to become overworked looking--at least in my hands!).

Tyler,
Another great, great glob. You accomplish more in your down time than I do all night long! wink

Next test image with new scope -- vdB142

Posted By Larry Durst

Looks like your setup is passing the test with flying colors (okay, the color is yet to come). And surely a great example of your earlier comment on post to go long with Ha. Now that I seem to have guiding that can handle it, I will certainly follow the advice and example.
Thanks,
Larry

Narrowband high res M27

Rick,
Superb. I must say that I thought the Ha was my favorite view--it was showing billows of nebulosity I don't think I've seen before.
Incredible in all views.
