Be Patient

Posted By Rod Kaufman

Carbon copy words of Bush from the Iraqi security adviser:
http://www.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/meast/03/23/iraq.main/index.html
Hmm, be patient? Where to begin?
How about the latest "pause" in the withdrawal of American troops? Didn't Bush just tout all of those Iraqi battalions that are activated, securing Iraq for Iraq? What happened to all those guys plus the "new" Iraqi police force? It's like they're there one day and gone the next. I guess it depends upon what day of the week it happens to be and whichever way the wind is blowing.(Opps, we can't overlook those photo ops)
It's been five years and the same terrorist threat that existed at the start of the war is the same threat that exists today. Or, perhaps it's even worse since it's now described as "the global war on terror." Is this somebody's idea of progress? Or, how about the progress the terrorists have made in securing Iraq as a training base for themselves. It looks like Bush delivered that one on a platter to them.
Just how long are we to remain patient?
How many times have you heard that one before?...

US troops killed in Iraq. That tragic milestone happened today when a roadside bomb killed 4 US troops for a total of 4000 dead.

Despite all of the wrangling in the Democratic party, the Republicans are the ones who evidently need to worry the most...

What Happened To Al Queda?

Posted By Rod Kaufman

The war's raging, big time, today in Iraq. But the fighting isn't due to Al Queda, it's all home-grown Iraqis battling it out and even the Iraqi government spokesman for their security plan has been kidnapped. In other words, it's a real clusterBush over there. Contrary to the Bush/McCain Republican mantra, the battleground now isn't Al Queda, it's your typical, ruthless, warlord slugging it out for supremacy. No wonder the generals want a "pause" in the troop withdrawls, it's all they can do to keep a lid on the place:

Re: Cheney

Posted By Rod Kaufman

It's truly appaling to read the comments from Dick Cheney, attributing the heaviest burden of the war on Bush! And his outright arrogance in defying the will of the American people typifies his approach from day one.
When he asked the reporter what she would do about multiple re-deployments, I wish she would have answered, why, after five years, can't the Iraqis provide for their own security and why can't there be benchmarks and timetables for them to do so?...

In the bullpen warming up...

I doubt it, Gore is a "long man" and it's too late in the innings to bring him in. It's too bad because the Democrats don't have any "short-relievers" to save the game...

Destroying Iraq To Save It

And, now leading the way, are the US airforce and the British, co-attacking Basra as Iraqis desert and join the various rival factions.
