McCain, the Environmentalist

Posted By Rod Kaufman

John McCain portrays himself as recognizing the dangers of global warming by heeding the warnings of credible scientists on the issue. For the GOP, that's light years ahead of the membership in general and the Bush administration in particular.
I wonder if it's pure rhetoric or if he really means what he says:

Bush Speaks!

Today, Bush gave his 2 cents on the high price of gasoline, "It's just too darn bad..."
First, Bush said we had the economy doing well and then that pesky housing issue happened(as if it ended)and now we have those high prices on gasoline(as if it's just bad luck that one followed the other):

Of course there was that little tidbit of factual information that the Democratic leadership reminded that colossal Bus head of today: he campaigned on a statement that his intimate knowledge of the oil industry made him better prepared and experienced to deal with OPEC on oil issues:

Tonight's Big Election

Posted By Rod Kaufman

Here's a clue, it's not West Virginia.
It's the race that features a Republican held postion they've held essentially forever like the last two we saw recently. It's the one Dick Cheney stumped for the other day and the Republicans and the Democrats just poured a million apiece into. It's:

Potential Cabinets for Barack, Hillary, & McCain

I gotta agree on John(the walrus)Bolton. That guy is a neocon throwback if there ever was one. We'd still have North Korea building their nukes with this guy around.

Bush: Obama=Appeasement:Outrageous!

Posted By Rod Kaufman

Bush's insane rants have reached a new high point in advocating a thinly veiled verbal attack on Obama when he dished out a heaping helping of the Repug bull----.
http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/05/15/bush-suggests-obama-wants-appeasement-of-terrorists/
Using his position during a visit to Israel to ostensibly intervene on negotiations for a peace deal while launching a political attack on a Democrat who has yet to be nominated is simply despicable...

The Dems Respond To Bush

Posted By Rod Kaufman

Blunt and to the point: what Bush said was bull----!
Although at the same level as our Prez, the response is entirely appropriate:
http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/05/15/bush.dems/index.html
You have to wonder how Bush reconciles the fact that his own administration has met with the Iranian government with the latter being characterized as a terrorist regime while simultaneously denouncing the presumed Democratic nominee for advocating the same thing.

Saudis To Bush: No!

Posted By Rod Kaufman

As I predicted, the Saudis have again told Bush where he can shove it. Their excuse today is that the demand for oil is way down so there's no reason to pump more! Quick, tell big oil and all the advocates of "market forces" that the demands are way down and there's more than enough supply so that's why we're seeing record high prices at the pump!
Now that the Saudis have explained it to us, it's all perfectly clear....
