Eric,
No excuses need for that M13. I really like the wide field view, and your colors are excellent1

? best software for imaging

Posted By Larry Durst

Bob,
I can't speak to comparisons, but I can tell you that for DSO's I have been using AstroArt 3 for acquisition (SX MX716), processing and now guiding and I have been extremely happy on all fronts with the software. I do occassionally use AIP4Win, which is really worth the investment for the book as much as the software. For planets with my webcam I really like K3CCDTools for acquisition and Registax for processing. Again, I can't speak to what is the "best" but only what I've found helpful in my limited experience.
Have fun,
Larry

The Ring Nebula

Beautiful. I also like the wide field view. Yet you still have plenty of detail on the Ring.

An Ancient Globular

Posted By Larry Durst

Man, Dan, guys like you and Tyler seem to get more out of these globs in your "down time" than I can achieve all night long! Wonderfully crisp resolution. How long were your subs?
Thanks for sharing,
Larry

Tom,
The sky does not get more beautiful than it does in your amazing images, and this is another stunner. Looks like that scope is a winner.
Can't wait for more,

IC7050 - The Pelican Nebula - from Utah

Posted By Larry Durst

Tyler,
I, too, found the detail you've captured astounding. Could you share your processing steps on this one? Or is it that you've gone to longer subs that makes the difference here? (Seems like I'm always trying to go to school on your images!)
Again, a wonderful image.

Really stunning image,
