Hi All, I'm putting together a solar star party for the world science fest on June 4th 2011. We will be doing it on Governors Island in New York Harbor. I'm hoping to get 50 solar scopes there for the event. Timothy Ferris among others will be there giving talks. If you were part of last years World Science Fest Star Party in Battery Park, I thank you all for coming. If you were not there you missed a great event with talks by Astronaut John M. Grunsfeld, Heidi Hammel, Neil deGrasse Tyson, John Mather, chief scientist, Science Mission Directorate, NASA, and others. I forgot to tell you all the this is FREE just bring your solar equipment, there will be parking provided by World Science Fest.

Hi every one, I have a couple of great star party events coming up that I can use your help on. The first is the World Science fest solar star party on June 4, on Governors Island in New York city. I am looking to bring 50 solar scopes of all types to the island to take part in a public star party with talk by Timothy Ferris, Dale Gary, and others. Parking and other needs for astronomers will be covered by W.S.F. this is a once in a life time solar party, last year at our night time star party we had 100 scopes and 5,000 people turn. With the sun getting very active we should have a great time sharing all you know about our star with the public.

The next event is going to be a fun one, It's a star party at Bethel Woods NY. on June 12, the star party is in conjunction with a concert by the sixties rock legends Deep Purple. We will be the opening and closing act for the concert. so if you were ever in a band you can tell your grand kids you opened for Deep Purple! Your travel costs to get to and from Bethel Woods will be covered ( a voucher signed at the event and a check will follow ).

I hope you can help with one or both of the events, It is very important to show the public what we are all about and how they can help save our night sky.

Hi Ben; I was at a scope show last Sat. people from Mead were at the show and I talked to them about the DSI the software the comes with it has the capability to do what your trying to do, total remote control, so they say. ... I don't have one yet but I plan to get one. I hope this helps. Good luck
