I realize this is the Coronado Group Forum (I have a PST) but thought there might be someone here that has had the opportunity to view through one of Lumicon's system.. I have a chance to pick up such a system at a good price. Pros & cons and how does it "stack up" (no pun intended) against Coronado's image.. thank you, JM

Eye-relief EP for the PST ?

The 12mm. Kellner that came with my PST just doesn't cut it in the Eye relief dept..has anyone had good luck with other choices? I was thinking about a 8-24 zoomer.. my 18mm. Celestron Ultima falls short but a tad better than the 12. I have been using an Orion Superwide Lanthanum 22mm. with fairly good results. John M

Black Night Binos for PSTs

I am getting ready to order Harry Siebert's Black Night Bino-Vue with the 1.3x corrector for use with Coronado's little PST. $300. for the Binos & $149. for the Corrector Has anyone taken the plunge and received theirs yet? Was curious to how this custom system performs.. I bought a 40mm. filter from a gentleman in Canada for 1K$ and tried "double stacking" I screwed the filter into the threaded recess provided on the PST, then tuned & re-focused.. was not too impressed with the improvement vs. the extra $$. I did notice a little more surface detail jumped out (orange peel) but the limb's Proms remained the same. I removed the (added weight) and tried again using just the little scope that could and decided I would post an ad for the 40mm. that evening, end of story. JM.

Shoot-out? 2" vs. 1.25" Bino-Vue

First off I am curious to the advantage (more light gathering I would guess) of having the 2" Bino-Vue. I just saw an ad for a Denkmeir. I am close to sealing a deal on a Black Night which is the 1.25" nose piece.. has anyone had the chance to try out both sizes?? thanks for your help.. JM

Clear Aperture Reflector

Has anyone had a chance to view through ORION'S new 3.6" Clear Aperture Reflector? Has the secondary mirror situated against the inside of the OTA (no more Spider veins) ORION claims a marked improvement in color clarity & contrast..Primary dia. 91mm

Best eye-relief EP for PST ??

Wished Coronado would have come up with a better EP they supply with the PST.. I have no luck with it what-so-ever. I have tried a ScopetroniX 14mm. widefield with a little better success. Today I tried an ORION 22mm. Superwide Lanthanum with 65o apparent field and 20mm. Eye-relief. still like looking down a long pipe! Any suggestions? Will try a Zoomer when I nab one.. thank you for any help. John Meiners, Astoria, OR.

PST (Best EP ?)

Waiting for a Vixen 8-24 Zoom to arrive. Not too much luck with the "on board 12mm. K." With the proliferation of so many PST viewers I thought someone would come up with a winner EP. I realize everyone's eyes are different, but thought I would just ask the Solar buffs with this scope what performs best.. thanks (again) JM

Should I Have to wait??

Was wondering what some our your thoughts might be on a situation that has developed during a transaction here on the Mart? Will not mention any names, not meaning to defame anyone, just wondering what the consensus of opinion might be.. Responded to an ad for a Power Tank that was listed for sale.. I sent the asking price $80.00, received the Tank via FedX... Tank seemed to be packaged well (bubble wrap & foam) but to my chagrin found that the spotlite attachment was broken off from it's base... I took a digital shot of it and e-mailed it to the sender. He said that he would file a claim (had insurance for $100.) that a FedX truck would come back and inspect the damage & how the box was packed. It takes six weeks for FedX to review their damage claims & issue a reimbursement... So what the seller is intimating to me is; when he gets his $$ he will send me mine... I know that if the shoe was on the other foot I would immediately send the buyer his $$ back. Your thoughts on the matter would be of interest to me... I am not worried about not getting my $$, the seller is a reputable well established Astro-marter.. but question the ideology.. JM
