At issue is Trump's compliance with a grand jury subpoena, issued in May, demanding that he turn over classified documents from Mar-a-Lago. Prosecutors said Tuesday that some documents were likely removed from a storage room before Trump's lawyers examined the area, while they were trying to comply with the subpoena. The timeline is essential, because Trump's lawyers later told investigators that they searched the storage area and that all classified documents were accounted for.

"The government also developed evidence that government records were likely concealed and removed from the Storage Room and that efforts were likely taken to obstruct the government's investigation," prosecutors wrote. "This included evidence indicating that boxes formerly in the Storage Room were not returned prior to counsel's review."

In the filing opposing Trump's request, DOJ argues that the former president lacks standing over presidential records "because those records do not belong to him," as presidential records are considered property of the government.

The Presidential Records Act makes clear that "[t]he United States" has "complete ownership, possession, and control of them," the DOJ filing states.

No one on the right has answered the question as to why Trump had the classified docs in the first place and Trump doesn't deny he had them.

When will you guys on the right finally give up on this guy who lost you the house, the senate, lost the popular vote twice, was impeached twice, and now is in deep legal doo doo on multiple fronts do to his shady dealings? The sooner you guys move on from him and make him irrelevant the sooner the GOP can get back to normal.

Sadly it reeks of corruption, by trump and his minions, to the highest degree. Hillary's emails and cell phones are small potatoes compared to what Donny has done with these classified documents he was hoarding and concealing. Not to mention the case in your state about him asking them to find 11K+ votes. Or the NY attorney general's case into tax fraud? Or the Jan. 6th capital riot due to his and his minions lies and more lies about the 2020 election? I will say this, the man has teflon like no other.

I enjoyed his speech there.  I have to give a hat tip to Mark Levin who posted the link in a tweet he sent out.  I watched it twice today.  The Claremont Institute is a Conservative think tank that has many sharp people as its fellows.  

I would hope the RINOs would take the 20 minutes and maybe reflect on the state that we find this nation in today.

We will wake up one day and realize it is too late.  Trump may have been extremely rough around the edges but he was a leader that this country sorely needed at the time.  

He wasn't afraid of them.  I know that this Modern Day McCarthyist party of leftists won't stop until they've burnt this nation to the ground.  

Someone needs to step up.  

I know this much, I can't think of anyone else, politician or otherwise who could have withstood the endless barrage of attacks that Donald Trump received from ALL sides of the political aisle and when the dust settled, was still standing.  

Donald Trump has withstood all the lies, the innuendo, and the hatred.   He's still there fighting against their lies and their hatred.

Take just the latest one, keeping the WH records and documents after saying they were all turned over to the NARA. Then more being found during the search in his desk and in other places besides that locked storage closet (guarded by the Secret Service as Greg likes to mention. Were the Secret Service agents guarding his desk 24/7, too???) Not too smart. By all means, keep Trump relevant.
