More Pardons Coming

Posted By Rod Kaufman

The key question from Monica Goodling during the hiring process: "What is it about George W Bush that makes you want to serve him?"
Er, ah, I suppose those that barfed in response didn't get the job. With all of the backlogs in filling positions reported in the article, I guess that's why they didn't have much luck in filling those positions...

McCain's 16 Month Iraq Timetable

Posted By Rod Kaufman

It looks like McCain is coming around to Obama's way of thing on the timetable on Iraq:
http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/07/28/mccain.larryking/index.html
Of course, McCain qualifies it and says Iraq and Afghanistan are interconnected and Obama doesn't understand it...yeah, just like Obama doesn't understand his 16 month timetable that McCain now says he could support :S
Oh, and forget McCain's pledge to get Bin Laden...if he's in Pakistan. He won't do it but Obama will, if the intell supports it. Looks like McGrandpa is waffling in the political winds but in the end we will have more of the same in Iraq while losing in Afghanistan and failing in the quest to get Bin Laden and have an escalating budget deficit and drilling off coast with nothing to show for it and on and on we go...

How many more species will this nutcase kill off before he leaves office?

The Case for Offshore Drilling?

Posted By Rod Kaufman

Jim Babcock said:

Should we do it? Yes

I have never heard a single Repub say that we can drill our way out of this issue, only libs who say that this is the Repub position. Repubs believe that we should provide relief to the people in the short, medium and long term. This means doing everything including conservation, nuclear, new technologies and drilling. As the article quotes, "Let's do everything", and "We're not talking about alternatives because we both (Presidential candidates) support alternatives". There is no magic bullet. Libs like oil prices to be high and painful because it reduces impact on the environment and drives innovation.

From your article:

Government estimates assume that drilling off the eastern and western coasts offers just over 1 million barrels a day

Spare production capacity is currently about 1.5 million barrels a day

In other words, drilling would increase spare capacity by 2/3, allowing us to be more resistant to supply variations.

Kennedy said another reason to drill is that a million barrels of oil a day - or whatever the final number is - means a million barrels we don't have to buy from a foreign country.

Libs apparently do not believe that we should reduce our energy dependence from other nations.
"Libs apparently do not believe that we should reduce energy dependence from other nations"? So that's why they attempt to have any energy compromise tempered with mandatory alternative sources of energy and that's why they attempt to tie windfall taxes on big oil with mandatory development of alternative sources of energy. I knew there was a reason...

It appears the Republicans think they can drill our way out of the oil crisis and they've got the public on their side.
Given the propensity of the American public to do anything but conserve, it appear we better get the drill bits spinning...
(Not to mention a national energy policy)...

Oh, I see, the usual dribble from Bush, the McCain redo of his 2013 exit date to 16 months with the "conditons on the ground" byline and the acknowledgment of reality by the pentagon that US forces ought to be in Afghanistan where they should have been in the first place, as explained by "conditions on the ground" (in Afghanistan)...

Since the US military has been successful we have been reducing troops in Iraq. As long as conditions continue to be positive, it looks like we have a plan for removing the rest of them over the next 3 years:

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/iraq/article4526313.ece

This is completely consistent with what has been said by the Administration and military from the start.

This is an agreement between the countries. What will Obama do if this is in place when he takes office? He wants them out NOW! Will he once AGAIN "clarify" his position, or will he simply cut and run despite agreements between the two countries?
Completely consistent?
From whom? Bush? No way Jose! The most we've ever heard from him has been his general time horizon BS.
McCain? Aside from his original 2013 crystalball forecast, he moved things up a bit by adopting Obama's 16 month forcast as a good deal:
http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2008/07/25/1225053.aspx
So it appears we get 16 months from either candidate, if we're lucky...

Buying the Democratic Nomination!

BO Corruption at it`s finest!...the SD`s that didn`t get paid off by BO...got paid off by Pelosi and friends...to vote for this Fraud!...

Really...do you want this Fraud in the WH??!

Excerpt,

"Of the thirty-eight Members of Congress Pelosi gave money to, sixteen went against the grain for Obama. This means, their state voted for Hillary, their district voted for Hillary, yet they endorsed Obama. Why? Follow the money.

John Alder NJ $2500 from Pelosi Alder endorses Obama
Jason Altmire PA $10k from Pelosi Altmire endorses Obama
Andre Carson IN $10k from Pelosi Aarson endorses Obama
Joe Connelly IN $10k from Pelosi Donnnelly endorses Obama
Gabrielle Giffords AZ $10k from Pelosi Giffords endorses Obama
Baron Hill IN $10k from Pelosi Hill endorses Obama
Ron Klein FL $10k from Pelosi Klein endorses Obama
Nick Lampson TX $7500 from Pelosi Lampson endorses Obama
Tim Mahoney FL $10k from Pelosi Mahoney endorses Obama
Jerry McNerney CA $10k from Pelosi McNerney endorses Obama
Harry Mitchell AZ $10k from Pelosi Mitchell endorses Obama
Patrick Murphy PA $10k from Pelosi Murphy endorses Obama
Joe Sestak PA $10k from Pelosi Sestak endorses Obama
Carol Shea Porter NH $10k from Pelosi Shea Porter endorses Obama
Zachary Space OH $10k from Pelosi Space endorses Obama
Niki Tsongas MA $10k from Pelosi Tsongas endorses Obama

By endorsing Obama, all of these Members of Congress went against the will of their constituents, twice, at the state level and at the district level. Only two members who received money from Pelosi’s PAC went against the grain and endorsed Hillary.

Is sixteen against the grain for Hillary and two against the grain for Obama a coincidence?

Pelosi’s contributions to the campaigns of state representatives followed a similar pattern. Sixty-three percent of the state representatives to whom Pelosi gave money, endorsed Obama in a state won by Clinton.

Ten thousand dollars, PAC to the FUTURE’s typical contribution, doesn’t seem like a lot of money but besides getting money from PAC TO THE FUTURE, most of these members got contributions from other PACs.

These contributions were most likely orchestrated by Pelosi and company since the overlap is too startling. Congressman James Clyburn from South Carolina has BRIDGE PAC. BRIDGE PAC gave money to all but two of these same members of congress. Steny Hoyer from Maryland has AMERIPAC. AMERIPAC gave money to almost every single one of these same members of congress. Typical donations from both of these PAC’S were $10,000.

And then there is the NATIONAL LEADERSHIP PAC and the NEW DEMOCRAT COALITION, and of course there is the HOPE FUND owned by Barack Obama. All of these PACs donated an average of $10,000 to most of their campaigns. These young representatives got a lot of pressure to endorse Obama no matter which way their district or state voted. The voices of their constituents were irrelevant.

It seems Obama was just posing as a Washington outsider. But in reality—all the real Washington insiders Pelosi, Dean, Kennedy, Clyburn, Hoyer, and Kerry were on his team all along. Pelosi’s Pac might be named PAC to the Future, but it took direct action to purposely undermine the first significant female candidate for the presidency in history. In so doing, she pushed women back decades."

http://noquarterusa.net/blog/2008/08/13/bought-and-paid-for-by-nancy-pelosi/

ACTION: Call Pelosi’s office at 415-556-4862 and let her know how you feel. Let’s not just call her biased against women; let’s call her finished."

FIGHT FOR DEMOCRACY, BEFORE IT DISAPPEARS.

This has to get out to the main media -the American voters need to know why their representatives did not honor their votes! :S
Another crock post, Obama won because he garnered more votes than his rivals and not because somebody donated a piss ant $10,000 here and a piss ant $10,000 there.
Geez, don't you have anything better to do?....

McCain the Hypocrite

John McCain must be having another seizure moment, first by getting it right by stating nations don't invade sovereign nations in the 21st century while simultaneously forgetting about the American invasion of Iraq:

Obama Makes Another Boneheaded & Dangerous Stateme

Posted By Rod Kaufman

Jim,
It ought to be obvious that Obama wants it on the record that the weight of the UN is against further aggressive actions on the part of the Russians, (although such action may have initially been justifiable).
Have some of you forgotten your history? Recall that UN military action against North Korea occurred when the Russians walked out and by doing so they weren't present for a vote that ultimately authorized military action against their interests! Now THAT was a boneheaded move on their part at the time!
