Have you ever eaten squirrels?

I would try any animal once.

How much meat do you actually get from a raccoon?

The ones in my house seem to be pretty hefty, maybe 40 lbs??

Yes on the squirrels.....some years back ate them regularly both fried and stewed..my preference being squirrel stew. Still occasionally kill a mess and make a stew.....

The best coon is younger in the 15 to 20 lb range....very tender.

Still once in a while like rabbit too.....if it is cooked right. Have eaten alligator turtle as well but it isnt on the list I prefer. Tried possum as well a few times but too greasy for me.....tastes ok.

Alligator tail is also VERY tasty.......Fried frog legs are on the list of regulars as well......

Yep you have eaten squirrel......I prefer stewed over fried but both are good. I pass on the brains though...

What passes for BBQ coon here probably isnt what you think though.....

It is baked in the oven with about 3 alternating layers of red/black pepper rubbed into it (6 layers total)....add your favorite sauce brushed on about 5 min before taking it out. Many times I dont even bother with sauce but do occasionally for variety......

Ahhh sorry.....not the 1st time not reading carefully bit me in the ass lol

"Here is one thing that people ought to be doing - remove their sold listings."

I basically saw the above and assumed from there without paying attention to the rest....

For the record I agree regarding not actually marking ads as sold using the tools of the site mucks up the works....

However, there are no moderators to deal with such issues, one person runs the site and has a full time business to run on top of that.......

That is one way to keep down the pest population, just cook 'em and eat 'em!  smile

As I said the 15 to 20 lb size makes the best eating.....with side dishes 1 makes a decent meal for 4 and perhaps some leftovers unless they are all me smile

Bullfrogs are the only kind of frog legs I am interested in gigging or eating......

Pickled pigs feet with a glass of cold milk will get my attention any time.

Tried mountain oysters once....not my thing.

Fried Tripe (cow stomach) while not something I seek out regularly is passable.

Chitterlings (or in southern speak Chitlins) ie pig entrails are a HARD NO for me.....They must 1st be boiled before they are fried and the smell will put me at a dead run to get away LOL. My parents would cook up a mess from time to time and I would run away to the neighbors house for a couple days till the smell was gone. Literally walk in the neighbors door and say Moms cooking chitlins again was all that needed to be said smile

Chicken hearts, livers, gizzards are a staple food around here.....beef liver and onions as well.

Will fight over the last piece of fried salt cured mullet fish sopped in cane syrup.....Pretty much my favorite food on the planet.....

You put your finger on the fact issue - were the 300 folks angry and threatening?  Were the McCloskey's reasonably in fear for their lives?  If the answer is yes, then I think the prosecution is unfounded.

Rich will hate this, but I don't think we have enough evidence to even guess whether the McCloskey's were reasonably in fear for their lives.   As Russ said, that is for the jury to decide after reviewing all of the evidence.

Jim

So 300 people show up and tear down a locked iron gate to get at you and you wouldnt see any reason to be in fear for your life???? You dont really expect to be taken seriously with that do you?
