Palin's Cronyism

Posted By Rod Kaufman

Palin's ample cronyism in Alaska reminds one of George W Bush and "you're doing a heck of a job, Brownie":

Well Deserved/ Back At It

Bill Clinton was right. "When people think, they vote Democratic."

Re: Rambling assessment and questions

Jim,
While I tend to agree with many although not all of your points, I think there are positive steps that can be taken.
China, for example, just unveiled its own economic stimulus package yesterday that our own economists say is pretty darn good. It focuses on the consumer which in turn drives the economy. Perhaps we could do something similar here.
US automakers ought to be required to produce green, fuel efficient vehicles if they want bailouts, period. Now is the time and opportunity to make it happen.
The government ought to require a guarantee of a payback on future profits from those who receive bailouts, not only to recoup the bailout but also to reduce the deficit.
Get the heck out of Iraq ASAP and spend our money here, not there.
Just my two pennies...

The Next Leader of the GOP

Posted By Rod Kaufman

This isn't another crock of Palin moose stew, it's the real McCoy:

I can't understand why she's continually being hyped in the media since vice presidential wanna be's simply fade away after the election. Does MSM want her as our next leader?

Other Political Websites

Posted By Rod Kaufman

I've been hanging out in a UK political website over the last couple of months. You guys don't know how good you've got it here. Talk about a bunch of stuffy Brits! After reviewing the articles in "The Independent Commentators", I can see why are forefathers declared war on Britain! I see they know about as much about our politics as we know about theirs.
I see their posts are thoroughly moderated. I learned yesterday, for example, that "the jews control the media". Meanwhile, my post on sectarian strife in Iraq was deleted apparently upon an objection of a man claiming to be an Iraqi who essentially stated everybody in Iraq lives together in peace and harmony. The occupation of Iraq by the brits evidently brought their cultural affiliations to a new stage of enlightenment.
I've got to get Patrick Keafer, Tom Rodstrom, Russell Chemela, Patrick Bailey, Jim Brown, Chuck Cunningham, Pierre Stronberg,Lee Spain, Robert Pasken, Rick Margolies, Eric Gagne, Jim Johnson and the rest of the gang over on the British website for an American invasion to help me set them straight.
Any of you blokes up for a battle of Britain?
PS: Just to let you know what you're in for, your posts are automatically limited to a thousand words on their website and a word counters appears on your comment section to tell you the number of words remaining before you're cut off. Furthermore, you can't post any links to support your arguments! Have fun!...

You expected something different from the people who gleefully brought you George W Bush and chow down on a heapin-helpin of Palin moose stew?

The Big Regret

Posted By Rod Kaufman

Unlike other notable figures from the war in Iraq camp (such as Colin Powell), Bush won't say now, given the absence of WMDs, that we were still justfied in invading Iraq and taking out Hussein:

Condi's Big Regret

Posted By Rod Kaufman

I almost fell out of my chair when I heard Condyloliar Rice being interviewed on Faux News. Although she partially assumes some responsibility for the fiasco in Iraq, she ultimately defends the insanity by concluding the war was justified in removing Saddam Hussein because it was a great "strategic achievement!"
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081207/ap_on_go_ca_st_pe/rice
Is she our of her mind or what? As the result of the war in Iraq, the region became completely destabilized, Iran looms bigger than ever and hundreds of thousands of Iraqis were displaced to other countries or left homeless in their own country. Is that anybody's idea of a "great strategic achievement?"

I don't think the Bush administration will ever wake up from it ignorance but here's a nice piece on why it ought to happen:
