Moon with a Questar 3.5

It's been a a while since I had any time to image - in any event, here's an image of the moon I took a few days ago with my 1968 Questar 3.5. This is a mosaic of 15 separate images, combined and adjusted in Photoshop. It's fun to see what this 45 year old + scope can do. It looks best if viewed at full size.

This was taken last night with my 1968 Questar 3.5, in fairly good seeing, at least for Minnesota smile. It looks best when viewed full size.

Jupiter with a Questar 3.5, round two

Here's the larger Jupiter from last night -- this was taken with a Lumenera camera, through the eyepiece port of the Questar with the barlow engaged. I captured approximately 1700 frames; this is the best 500, processed in Registax and slightly adjusted in Photoshop.

It was interesting to compare this unfinished version of Roland's to the Hubble image at the link below:

Roland's image needs to be cropped and rotated to line up; it will be interesting to compare the final version. Amazing stuff!
