Has anybody tried this eyepiece? Is it worh the money? I have seen a few very mixed reviews. This eyepiece seems to be the best value in a 1.25" low power widefield.

I just bought a used lumicon O3 filter and was wondering do all their filters have the white lettering engraved on the side? This one looks good but no lumicon on the side. By looking at the plastic jewel box case it comes in appears to be a little older one. Any ideas on this? :S

Is there a way to tell plate glass from pyrex by looking at it?
My brother has a 8" discovery mirror and it has a very good figure but just won't keep up with my 8" meade starfinder.
It appears to be a heat problem you can see the heat in the image. The discovery tube is smaller than the meade less air flow around the mirror. The other possibility is the mirror is plate glass and more unstable. :S

I bought one of these and tried it out this weekend. I have a question about it someone here will probably know.
I diffraction ring tested it and the outside of focus rings are not nearly as well defined or as bright as on the inside of focus. Is this normal for this focal length scope?
Otherwise this scope really surprised me images are very nice. :S

Does anyone know if these are self collimating? I have had trouble with my mirror star diagonal being collimated in my AR5 refractor and thought about buying a takahashi prism diagonal. Any ideas?

Anyone know where to get these any more? I have been thinking about grinding a another mirror but it has been so long since i have made one that i don't seen any kits available.
