You might want to contact Roger Tuthill scopes and see what they think.
I met him at Stellafane, and he was an honest person. He has helped me with various problems before.I'm sure his company still carries on the tradition of being top notch.
Good luck.....Gerard

Help needed

Buy the book "The new CCD astronomy" (Ron Wadowski)
You can buy it from "Anacortes"
It will probably answer all your questions without you having to jump on line too much..plus the advice that you get here will probably come in small increments..why wait?
when you can open the flood gates?
Good luck with your new scope..you must be very happy..I know I would.

Sunflower hi-res

Ron,

Another great image by the "GREAT WODASKI"
Can we see just the luminance image? The color looks superimposed.
Plus, I'm a black & white fan.

CGE Mount

Francisco

These mounts are not cheap. Sounds like the drives are not working. Can you hear the motors working? (Might have to put your ear up against the motors to be sure)
Is there a trouble shooting guide that came with the instructions?
You may want to call Celestron if you can't figure it out.
Good luck

Jumpin Jupiters! UGCA276 looks like an irregular type galaxy.
I kinda like the odd ball stuff that does not get imaged very often. What would happen if you trained your scope on this galaxy for about 30 minutes x 10...without a camera (Ha! just kidding) with a heavy histogram stretch.
Let me guess, a bigger more well defined smudge?

NGC4631

Nice shot!

Dust lanes look all helter skelter, almost like a collision with that small galaxy underneath it.
Maybe if you did go back and get some color it may show heavy star formation regions.
Again, nice shot.

I want to borrow it too. I have a C-14 as well....on 2nd thought..with all the hours I've working I think I can go out buy one...on 3rd thought with all the hours I've been working I'll never get my scope out until fall...never mind.

"The Eyes" (NGC 4435/38) in color

I generally like gray scale images...but this color image real brings out a lot of detail..especially that faint galaxy in the upper right hand corner of the image.

You know, if you would invest more money in some quality equipment I think you could do better.(kidding)
