Erlen, here is even a bigger stretch. This is another of my concoctions. My cat is responsible for this brainstorm.

Given that my cat is instinctually afraid of snakes, and given the fact we are too, and given the fact dragon myths can be traced to the far corners of the earth, could we not be collectively remembering dinosaurs?

Think of it. For 200 million years mammals lived in great fear of warm blooded, hot breathed, brightly plumed, meat eating therapods. Every day the routine was say goodbye to the wife and kids, step out into the Tertiary jungle, and scavenge for food.... until boom boom boom.... Panic! A look way up, and there it was, the all too familiar visage of a long toothed brightly colored clawed biped, some with wings, charging in..... Run, run run, dive into the burrow just escaping the steamy stench-mouth of the scaled beast.

For 200 million years, a veritable hell!

Deep in the recesses of our mammalian brain, same with cats, shouldn't there be a genetic survival imprint remnant? We wouldn't be here, if it weren't for mammalian cunning keeping our class from being eaten out of existence by dinosaurs.

James, are you thinking, just because we can, we ought to invade countries that are of no threat, just because, some day, they might be a threat? What country isn't?

Seems to me, that is a recipe for global disaster.

I hope the Senate vetoes the now rulings. The fact ultra conservatives are backing the new FCC measures only increases my paranoia of burgening Big Government.

There is some support growing for the inclusion of the Chimp and the Bonobo under the genus Homo. The reasoning being the two species share 99.4% same genetic code.

In fact, Chimps and Bonobos are more closely related to humans, than they are to Gorillas.

Scientists have also found Chimps, Gorillas, Humans, Bonobos share unique neuron clusters made of "spindle" neurons that make them smarter than all other animals.

Bonobos are our closest genetic relatives, and they have more of these spindle neurons than other apes. Gibbons, the most distant ape, have no spindle neurons.

Paul t., wouldn't apes be all of the same kind? After all, the above mentioned apes are more closely related than horses, zebras, and donkeys.

We all know about Bush's famous attack on Gore over the Clinton administration's "nation building." I don't know what he was using as a yardstick, but if his current projects in Iraq and Afghanistan are not nation building exercises, then what is.

When someone parrots Rush Limbaugh's sneering, "Whiny liberal class warfare - give it a rest - people just aren't buying it," I cringe, because the brown shirt indoctrination is working on some.

Like Bret said, you would have to be blind not to see the huge transfer of wealth to the top 1% that is going on under this administration.

We are just crying foul!

It reminds me of the Chinese guy who stood before the tank column. It may not have been much of a populist uprising, but you can't say the tanks weren't there.

The brown shirt radio hegemony wants to smother any action taken against corporate treasury raids and landed gentry family fiefdom making.

The Chinese brown shirts snuffed the guy with the brief case. Lets just hope our Constitutional government enables a popular redress.

Bush, spoke in public some three months after 9-11. There Bush recounted his whereabouts upon first hearing of the first tower being hit:

"I was in florida. And... I was sitting outside classroom waiting to go in, and I saw an airplane hit the tower - the TV was obviously on, and I use to fly myself, and I said, 'There's one terrible pilot.'"

No comment needed.

Here is another one. Speaking to the father of twins, he said, "I've been to war. I've raised twins. If I had a choice, I'd rather go to war."
