I imagine you might have checked this, but have you gone into your computer's BIOS to see if the serial port is enabled? Usually this is done by pressing a function key upon startup, depends on your pc which key to try.

Thanks. This spot has now gotten very large and very dark. Yesterday it reminded me of a large pair of lips ! I can't remember a sunspot being this dynamic in the past.

Light Cup first solar sketch

Incredible sketch ! you have captured the detail I can see but have been unable to capture on film. These spots appear to change shape within every 12 hours. Occasionally a moment of really good seeing pops up despite the heat and really shows off the detail.

Quite spectacular. unfortunately scope has been packed..I have quite the natural solar filter now, black smoke everywhere. The spots are obvious in the red sun. Flames a mile away... Paul Chula Vista, CA.

Yes I am aware Halliburton uncovered the stink themselves. I think this disclosure was made in the best interest in the company as it surely would have been found under the probes of external auditors. This contract was for basic support of the troops. I found it curious that Halliburtan had that advertising blitz last month as 'proud to support our troops". Of course the no bid monster contract had a lot to do with it.
