Hi Folks,
I think the Haggard thread has just about run its course and I do have a few questions for non-Christians.

I'm genuinely interested if you believe in some type of after-life. If so, could you please elaborate. A heaven/hell, another dimension, part of a cosmic soup type dimension? If not, is it that when you die, that's it? Is there an after-life for animals as well? What do you think?

Hi Mike,
I don't think "laugh" is the word I'd use...more like tragic. As your subject line quotes, Mark 13:22 Christ warns us about guys like the article mentions. I will know when Christ appears because in just a few more verses, Mark 13:26 tells us. I don't know when it will be, but when it happens, there won't be any doubt.

I am considering purchasing a solar telescope, but am unsure which is the better deal. Would you go with a double stacked PST or a Solar Max 40 scope? I would think they are rather comparable, although the Solar Max 40 is about $300 more for the same aperture. Also, looking for your opinions on a mount. How's tha Malta mount?

Dob Tube Sliding Weight

Hi Folks,
Looking for a little help here. I have a 16" split tube Discovery with great optics. My problem is I would like a little more aft CG. I thought I remember reading somewhere that there is a sliding weight for tube dobs. I checked with our sponsor, but it seems he doesn't carry this. Do you know where I can find such a product?

It seems when I slide my scope back the bottom contacts the mount preventing me from approaching zenith. When I slide it forward, I am top heavy.

EM 200 Mount Question

I looked at a very slightly used EM 200 mount and noticed a thin rust color discoloration along the seams. Could that be grease? Is it a problem?

Lord of the Rings - Just finished the whole series

I just watched it last night. I agree, I thought it was a little boring. The story got lost amidst the high tech fight scenes. To me, it was star wars & braveheart thrown together in one movie. I did like the fight between Sam and the spider, but other then that...yawn. Liv Tyler made a pretty good looking fairy wink
