Bearing grees

Posted By Alan Otterson

This is my latest project.

I sm re-furbishing my old bearing & my old 6" Byers Drive.

The bearing is a 2" pillow block,
and the shaft is a solid 2" steel, cut down at one end to fit the drive.
I am in the process of cleaning it up.

Does any one know what type of grees would be good for it?

Keep you posted,

Alan

My Observatory is almost done.
Under ground power installed.
Just need to finnish the inside.

You all can laugh and call it names if you wan't, but at least it works and I have an observatory.

Name this lens

Posted By Alan Otterson

Hi all,

I found this lens,
Carl Zeiss Planitar 4.5/180.

I am trying to find out what it is from, and if it could be used as a finder or whatever.

Thanks

Try a sign shop that uses computers for their designs. they might be able tue fix you up.

Sliders vs. Domes

Posted By Alan Otterson

I don't care for them. I do like to see the entire sky, how about considering a Flip Top Observatory.

No rails sticking out, no rollers to worry about.

Hi Darrell,

Dew is one reasonm that I picked a flip top roof, when you open the roof the dew goes with the roof wings ad everything is nice and dry,
