I have this idea that there is a higher proportion of professional astronomers that are Creationists instead of evolutionists, compared to professionals in the other science fields .

I am ,I guess basing it mostly on the open mindessness for the Creation theory I see in Sky and Telescope, and Astronomy magazines, and the field in general.

Do you think this is true, and why this field?

The Bible tells how our climate was in the early earth when Adam and Eve existed. The earth had a relatively stable temperature. There was not the wild extremes we have today , with extreme cold air masses meeting extreme warm air masses which contribute to tornadoes, hurricanes also. That was not God's original design. Can't blame him for the weather now. Man is the one who is responsible because of his fall from grace before the time of Noah, where God had to stop man from ruining himself and the earth, and hence caused the flood. Why was the weather stable, and uniformly warm?

The Bible explains that there was a water vapour laden air canopy that resided over the earth's atmosphere. (see Genesis 1:6,7). It acted like a greenhouse , letting the sun's heat in, and not allowing it all to dissippate. Proof of warmer climates can be seen where they have unearthed palm trees in the soil on islands north of Siberia,. Also, they have found mammoth remains at extreme northern climatic zones, so there must have been warm enough weather for them to obtain enough fodder, since they consumed a lot.It had to be warm enough to grow the vegetation they needed.

However at the flood, things changed. God brought the water canopy down in torrential rains, hence the need for Noah and his family to build the ark. Now the climate is different because the canopy is not there. In fact the earth is still in a flooded state, look at the size of the oceans. -continued-see part 2

There is proof that a flood, a world-wide catatastrophe occurred. Mammoths have been unearthed in Siberia where they have been freeze-dried for thousands of years. They are so fresh that the flesh could be eaten by dogs. They had green vegetation still in their mouth. Something happened that was quick. At the time of the flood , the polar regions must have been flash cooled quickly.There are other mass graves of tumbled and twisted animal remains of various species of animals all huddled together (some in Alaska). There is other proofs.

For details , I recommend you read the book -The Genesis Flood, by John C. Whitcomb, and Henry M. Morris. I don't agree with everything in their book, but he gets into some details that are quite convincing.

But did you know that just like how the theory of evolution has been introduced into religions mind set and made the account of Adam and Eve fall into disbelief, the same thing has happened to belief of Noah's Flood.This has important repercussions.

Did you know that some Christian denominations like The Catholics and Lutherans, who believe in creation by God , have changed their belief that the flood of Noah was an actual event that occurred.

For proof, please go to the Catholic Encyclopedia of 1908 , volume 4 , page 702, under the heading Deluge which says that they affirm belief in a world wide flood that was a real event. They mentioned that their Church Fathers, Christian Bible writers like Peter and Jesus, and the history of their Church all give testimony that the flood was a real event in Noah's Day.

Then they abruptly changed their tune. Look at the New Catholic Encyclopedia, of 1967 , volume 2 page 509, under the heading of Bible, and also pages 741 -743 under the heading of Deluge (I think volume 2 also).
Here they say the reverse, that the flood is a myth, an allegory. They went against the Bible's position and the whole history of their Church.

The interesting thing is that this reversal by people who believe in creation ( whether they believe God directly created , or God started the evolutionary process) was prophesied to come about in the last days of this wicked system of things, when true faith in the Bible would be under attack.

Yes , this reversal by creationists was prophesied to occur. This is one of many things that prove we are in the last days of this system of things , when God will soon step in and bring his Kingdom to come, where His rule will take place.

Here is the scripture: 2 Peter 3:3-6:

' " For you know this first, that in the last days there will come ridiculers with their ridicule, proceeding according to their own desires and saying :

" Where is this promised presence of his? Why, from the day our forefathers fell asleep in death, all things are continuing exactly from creation's beginning."

For , according to their wish, this fact escapes their notice, that there were heavens from of old and an earth standing compactly out of water and in the midst of water by the word of God; and by those means the world of that time suffered destruction when it was deluged with water." '

Ed, interesting scientific observations you have reported. As an answer for them from a creation believer/ Bible supporter, let me first say there is a lot scientists don't know. The excess genes may serve a purpose, for example I have heard that we only use a small part of our brain capacity in our lifetime. What is the rest for?

Secondly Ed ,it would not surprise me that our DNA is corrupted... Let's face it, something IS wrong!!! We only live 70-80 years long. That is not the way God originally made us. Adam had the prospect of living forever. Because of sin, man was punished and not allowed to live forever. Interestingly Adam lived for 930 years, and other people had long life spans before the deluge. One person Methuselah lived for 969 years. Notice that no man has lived for 1000 years, which is a day in God's eyes.

They must have lived longer life spans because they were closer to perfection, their DNA might not have been as corrupted, or for some other reason. After the deluge man's lifespan was further reduced, being closer to the lifespan we have now, for some unknown reason. More radiation from the sun, because the water canopy was gone, one possible conjecture.

To enable to help man live forever on the earth which God has promised, He will no doubt help fix the DNA problems we have , or reverse the reasons for aging and sickness. Those excess , and latent genes might be used for a human organism that has a longer life span. Maybe our bodies will be able to re-grow new limbs , ect, if accidents occur, who knows. The people coming back in the resurrection to live on the earth, will no doubt have their DNA in proper sequence, or their bodies fixed of the aging/sickness problem.

Sexually Transmitted Diseases

For another case: Let's talk about sexually transmitted diseases. They have been with man for ages. I was curious about the history of these diseases , so I went to the library and looked at some books about them.
It was interesting how they talked about how people in the past did not have a clue how they circulated. Only that promiscuous people were more prone to get them. But the modern books I read were very strange, in that they never disclosed scientifically where these diseases originated or why people get them. I thought they would say, well if you are promiscuous , you have a higher natural chance of getting them. Buy why, is it God punishing people for their sexual excursions away from marriage. No, he does not try people with evil things , the Bible says (James 1:13).

Rather he warns people to stay in the bounds of monogomy, and a stable marriage. He knows how we are created. He knows there is something in the make-up in man that can't handle a person receiving foreign tissue, biology from too many people into their bodily system. Or, whatever the biological reasons these diseases continue. I am not a scientist. (I am also not saying that a person who has 4 or 5 marriage partners is guaranteed to get diseases.) Diseases is , for one reason, why God in his love commands people not to commit fornication, homosexuality, and adultery. From my studies into the history of these diseases, I saw that these diseases spread through promiscuous behaviour (no surprise here) among various sectors of the human race, prostitution, promiscuity, ect. Down through the ages, this behavoiur has kept these viruses, diseases alive in the general community.

Look at Africa, the nation is in sore straits because of Aids. They have problems in their culture with keeping morals, for example married truck drivers will have sex with women on their journeys across the land. Some have funeral customs where woman share their bodies with relatives, ect. Young people, are for the most part immoral. If people lived up to the Bible's standards, this situation would most probably not have happened.

So , if scientists want to really help the community, instead of having an evolution mindset and exclusively try and find medical cures to these diseases (I am glad they are trying), they would really benefit mankind if they would have the God mindset and do research into why mankind is getting these diseases and then take this research to the people and say look at what we have found. God is right. This is how you prevent. Change your morals. Not, here is your condom, I know you can't control yourself, and don't worry you can continue your conduct, we will find cures. They have the attitude that these diseases are not caused by the nature of the conduct itself, but just bad evolution of microbes that somehow caused man harm.

How many angels are there?

Daniel 7:9,10 says:

"I kept on beholding until there were thrones placed and the Ancient of Days sat down. His clothing was white just like snow, and the hair of his head was like clean wool. His throne was flames of fire; its wheels were a burning fire. There was a stream of fire flowing and going out from before him. There were a thousand thousands that kept ministering to him, and ten thousand times ten thousand that kept standing right before him. The Court took its seat, and there were books that were opened."

Ten thousand times ten thousand, equals 100,000,000, or one hundred million angels standing before the Supreme Judge.

We are coming almost to the conclusion of my personal arguments, and message from the Bible, that I have gleaned , and wanted to share with you.

If you decide to serve, and worship Jehovah (Yahweh), don't feel that you are all alone in this godless world. No, you have Jehovah God with you, his son Jesus Christ, and 100 million angels who are on God's side. Also fellow Christians.

The earth has ; what, 5 or 6 billion people , and how many have taken God's side in the universal issue ?

The majority are not taking the issue seriously. There is another point I would like to say. Revelation 12:3,4 shows us that the Satan, the fiery-colored dragon "drags a third of the stars of heaven". Stars can represent angels.(Job 38:7). Mention of a third would emphasize that a considerable number of angels have been misled by Satan. Once these came under his control, there was no escape for them. They could not return to God's holy organization. They became demons, dragged along, as it were, by Satan their king, or ruler. Satan cast them down to the earth.

Don't side with these enemies of God, or people on this earth who are not on God's side. Worship the true God, Jehovah. You will have lots of fellow creatures by your side.
