TBM CNC 115

Posted By Chester Flaxmayer

I bought the LW version and I love it. It makes a nice compliment to my 10" dob. I have it on a Giro II DX mount for now.

Why Bother With Super Planetary EP's ??

Posted By Chester Flaxmayer

I have Pentax XLs, Pentax XWs, Pentax Ortho, and several TMBs.

I find that there are usually one or two features on the moon or planet that I DO NOT SEE until I use the TMB or the Pentax ortho. Once I see the feature, I can find it in any eyepiece but I do not see it until I hit it with the right eyepiece. Most of the time, the eyepieces that I have this happen with are the TMBs (Once in a while, the ortho).

This happens on the Moon and planets. THe effect is less on deep fuzzies and I have noticed it on my 8" SCT, 10" Dob, and my 4.5" Apo.

Which finder?

Posted By Chester Flaxmayer

I use the Borg mini 50.

It is pricy but the ability to change eyepieces and add a diagonal is useful

that way, if you want to use it as stratght thru or right angle, you can.

Hutech sells it

100 vs 140mm

Posted By Chester Flaxmayer

I have a TMB 115/850.
I just bought a TMB 175/1400

The improved detail and light grasp increase is, in a word, HUGE and I live 24 miles north from Phoenix and my skys suck.

The 140 all the way.

Giro Mount Performance question

Posted By Chester Flaxmayer

my two Giros do not do that.

However, it may not be the shaft

One of mine did that when the collar on the shaft was pressed in to far.

loosen one of the shaft collars, take off and clean and relube the shaft, reassemble and put the collar on just a tad looser than it was, this should fix your problem unloess it is bent.

"The Rainbow Bridge"

"There is a bridge connecting heaven and Earth. It is called the Rainbow
Bridge because of its many colors. Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge there
is a land of meadows, hills and valleys with lush, green grass.

When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place. There is always
food, water and warm spring weather. The old and frail animals are young
again. Those who are maimed are made whole again.

There is only one thing missing. They are not with their special person
who loved them on Earth. So each day, they run and play until the day comes
when some suddenly stop playing and look up. The nose twitches! The ears are
up! The eyes are staring and tails wag! Your horses whinny, your dogs bark,
your cats meow. And they suddenly run from the group.

You have been seen, and when you and your special friends meet, you greet
one another joyously. Your face is kissed again and again and again, you look
once again into the eyes of your trusting pets, and once again, you rub and
pat sleek and shiny coats.

Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together, never again to be separated."
