Kinda quiet here with the election gone and all, just wondering.... the media has said that 6 of 15 cabinet posts were being vacated, perhaps not wanting to help build those legacies?

Anyway, does the number 6 include Paul O'Neil and Christie Todd?

Field Stop info

Hey all grin I'm looking for field stop specs for the 24.5 meade swa and the 32 mm 1.25inch konig. Any help would be greatly appreciated, the eyepiece calculations work a bit differently with field stops verses afov. Thanks

Help, High power EP!!

Hello all, my new refractor's focal length mandates a 16-19 mm for a snidge over 200 power with my power switch at 4X. I had prior thought the 14 radians were a bit sharper than the 16 Nag type 5. So do you think bino mode at high power on the power switch, 18 radian, 19 panoptic, or 16 nag? Hand tracking of course, I'd place sharpness a bit ahead of FOV. Thanks in advance.

Meade SWA's vs Panoptics

I have upgraded from a TMB115/LW to a Tec 140. with bino and 16 Nags on the 115, M81 and M82, though at the edge at low power with the bino is a pretty sight. In an effort to duplicate the framing, I am using the 24.5 Meade SWA's. The FOV should be 1.19 with the TEC and the Meades verses 1.12 with the 115 and Nags. I was kind of dissapointed with the SWA's. The pair fit my FOV, but barely, not quite as comfortably as the 115, and they just didn't seem sharp. My seeing and darkness maybe wasn't up to snuff with nights on the 115 but.... Wondering how the FOV of the 24 Pans compares directly to the Meades and how is the flatness and sharpness, I really thought I wouldn't have an issue with the bino because I'm at f 9.8 with the OCS. Any feedback would be appreciated, the field stop on the Meades might be restricting the FOV, but I can't find the info and wasn't satisfied with the edge anyway. The 115 is really nice and I'll have a hard time parting with either, but...one will go in a month. Thanks

Multi-purpose guide/richfield question?

I have a Tec 140 mounted on a GM-8. I do binoview and have utilized a Rigel quickfinder. I was considering adding a finder/richfield scope to take the Tec deeper, more easily and perhaps with the right set-up could use the finder as a quick peek scope. I was thinking along the lines of the mini-borg 50mm or a pentax 65-edf or maybe even a televue ranger. As a bonus, I could flop a camera into the guy but I am visual. Thanks for your help guys.

This dovetail set-up came with my TEC 140. It was a bit long, a bit heavy, so I did get the TEC 9 inch. This is 13.5 inches long by 4 inches wide. I'd like to know what it is so I can accurately post it on the mart. Thanks.

What a wonderful time, under the guise of assistance to people who perhaps maybe even want us there, methodically relocate the miltary effort which had been intended to rebuild an infrastructure, to Asia to assist those poor people. Excellent cover, lower security requirements, and saving American and Asian lives and improving a generation in that region. And great cover for the US to get out!

Light Rich Field/Finderscope

Wondering if anyone has experience or input on a quick mount rich field/finderscope for my Tec 140/GM-8 set-up. I'd really like a nice finder that I could then use as a rich field scope. Weight is a consideration, I'd like to be under 2.5 pounds. Wondering about the mini-borg or anyone have any input on the Tak 11-70mm Finder? Thanks

Help, Truss tube dilemma!!

I need a bit of help. These are aluminum truss tubes which after a year waiting for the scope and a year of use, the paint is cracking off horribly. The manufacturer told me to go get a can of bed liner from wal-mart, I'm unsure if that is the correct course. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

University Optics OPS Orthos?
