Tufted Titmouse

These little guys are never still and difficult to photograph. This one is the Southwestern Form -- and caught eating a Sunflower seed. Shot with Sigma SD10 using a 400 f/5.6 mirror lens. Cropped about 60% in photoshop and reduced image quality.

Low Light Digital SLR (Which one???)

Posted By Gene Griggs

I'm planning to upgrade my digital SLR in the near future and wanting to get the absolute best (well under $3,000 best!) digital SLR for taking pictures in low light conditions. Most of them seem to perform rather poor to horrible in low light conditions.

I wished that Sony made a digital SLR with their Super HAD chip but it's not there. So does anyone know which one is the best, lowest noise, etc.?

I plan to use this for taking photos of lightening storms at night, ocassional connection to my scope for taking pictures of bright objects like Jupiter, taking photos of birds that might be hiding in the shadows, indoor shots without needing a flash, etc.

Flip Mirrors and Eyepieces for CCD Imaging

Posted By Gene Griggs

Does anyone have any advice on which eyepieces work best for CCD astrophotography cameras? Does everyone use flip mirrors or guide scopes or both for CCD imaging (and which flip mirror's would you recommend because there's several on the market ranging from cheap to expensive).

Thanks!

Flip Mirror Question (Newbie Needing Help)

Posted By Gene Griggs

I'm now purchasing some equipment for astrophotography and not sure what to buy for the flip mirror? Or does everyone just use a guide scope? Any pros or cons to either one of these techniques.
