The most useless thing in a kitchen...

Posted By Frederic Caron

I've now completed my set-up. Of course the weather is calling rain for the entire week. I assume that is a regular thing among all of us when we got a new telescope. I live in a 3 1/2 appartment and fortunately i'm single, because a C14 in the kitchen of a 3 1/2 appartment must be a divorce case !

Hummingbird

Posted By Frederic Caron

I've took this picture with a 102mm f/5 refractor and a Vesta Pro webcam last year. I'm used to hold the drinking trough in my hands and putting my fingers on the "parking", wait a while and the hummingbirds will land on your finger. Try it at home and you'll see by yourself. That's work !

Never let your books without supervision...

If you leave your books without supervision for a while....You may encounter a major problem when trying to return....

That was my case tonight.

blackening walls?

Posted By Frederic Caron

Yeeessssss !! Paint your inside walls.

That's worth the pain. For my observatory, i've used Corostop black matt paint. That's create a REAL dark environnement inside the observatory. For visual use, it's amazing, the black matt color cut the light reflection inside.

Brand new C11 OTA : WARNING !

Posted By Frederic Caron

The new OTA have screws, but they are too close together. The screws on the former OTA are a lot more spaced. That's the problem.

Brand new C11 OTA : WARNING !

Posted By Frederic Caron

I've solved my problem without having to drill new holes in the OTA.

A machinist has builted small aluminium brackets to fit the OTA into the Ultima forks mount.

C11 broken - help needed

Posted By Frederic Caron

Hi Mr. Becker,
i've read about a guy who has changed the corrector on his SCT and never seen the difference from it's original SCT. I think that was on the Yahoo group SCT user by Rob Mollise.

Hope this will help you.
