JMI EZAlign for SCT

I am considering purchasing a JMI EZAlign for my meade 10" LX50 SCT. I'd like to hear from anyone that has got one of these to hear if you are satisfied with it. I have purchased other JMI products and have been somewhat satisfied with their quality, but I have not seen many using this polar scope. I like the design of the Tuthill, but it appears so large, it would make transporting the scope between locations impractical while attached. Any thoughts from the forum?

I have looked at the Tuthill, but it doesn't look it would be very portable, if I wanted to move from one site to another as far as fitting in my box very well, etc. Any thoughts from the forum?

All The Meade photos show this thing with the Giant field tripod. I know it is robust, but shouldn't a scope of that weight (with a guide scope, CCD, etc) be on the same tripod as the 16" (super giant)?

OK, it's that time of the year again. Here in the frozen tundra of the midwest, I find I would enjoy my observing a little more if I could stay warm without being so layered I can't move. If you could define "state-of-the-art for keeping warm", what would it look like?

Best choice for a digital camera

All, my wife has just told me she'd like to have a digital camera for Christmas. I doubt that I'll use it much, since I am pretty committed to film photography at the moment, but given a choice of what is out there, which camera is best suited for astrophotography in the 3-5 megapixel range? I'd like to keep it at 5-600 dollars if possible. Who has the best deal on mail order? All my other stuff is Nikon. Thanks in advance for your input.

Achieving focus on a FS102

I have a question for the forum. I recently bought an FS102 as my primary photography scope. I am used to focus aids such as a Hartman mask for my SCT, and was wondering if such a thing exists for a refractor. I had a STI focuser for my SCT for a while, but didn't like it. Any ideas on achieving sharp pinpoint focus on the refractor? My eyesight is failing as a function of age, and I'm finding I have a hard time distinguishing between "almost in" and "in focus!". That was the beauty of the mask. I would also add, I am using a Nikon 35mm with a Beattie Intenscreen. Any thoughts are welcome and appreciated.

Achieving focus on a Tak FS102

Hello. I recently took delivery of a Takahashi FS102 which will be replacing my inexpensive Orion 90mm short tube as my primary photography scope. I am wondering if there are any "tricks" that will help a guy determine when he is in perfect focus, short of bracketing. I tried one of the Stilletto focusers on my 10" SCT and didn't like it. My eyesight is failing as a function of age, and I had a hard time distinguishing the lines with the Stiletto. I like using a Hartman mask on my SCT, and wish there were something similar for the refractor. I use a 35mm Nikon at the moment, with a Beattie Intenscreen. Any recomendations?
