So here are the parameters: 1) 10" f/5 Hardin DSH, 2) price range of <$50 per EP 3) casual observing of lunar, planets, and brighter DSOs.

My preference is for a generous FOV, but I'm willing to compromise on that somewhat for better edge performance in this price range. I do like larger eye lens and reasonable eye relief (good for kids, and neighbors). Lastly, I'd like a parfocal set of 4 in the 5mm, 9mm, 15mm, 20mm range.

What would you recommend? Right now I'm leaning towards the GSO SuperViews, or the Orion Expanses.

I'm getting back into this hobby after a few years hiatus. After owning Dobs, Refractors and Maks of varying size, I've decided that my casual observing requirements would be best met by a good quality 8" Dob and a couple good EPs. I've narrowed down my choices to the 8" Meade Lightbridge and the 8" Zhumell.

The Zhumell offers one heck of a lot of bang for the buck and the latest models even include dual speed Crayford focuser for a very attractive price.

I'm reaaly intrigued by the Lightbridge truss tube design, although I'm wondering if a truss tube design is really warranted in an 8" scope. Maintaining collimation is my main concern with this one.

I probably should be most concerned with the mirror quaility.

I;d appreciate any feedback from you all on my choices.

To be used in an 8" f/6 Dob. I can get the full set of Expanse EPs for less than the cost of two Stratus EPs.

I've owned Naglers, Pans, and Pentax XLs and loved them all, but now I'm trying to take a much more modest approach to this hobby. Casual observing only.

Also, am I correct that Hyperion EPs' are pretty much the same as the Stratus, and that Antares W70s are the same as the Expanse? Any reason to favor one brand over another?

I'm thinking that I'd be best equipped with three pieces... 21mm for sweeping, 12-13mm for 100X, 5-6mm for 200X. I am leaving out 8-9mm which is a nice fl as well in an 8" Dob. That's why I lean towards the Expanse... I can get the whole lot for $200... Hmmmmm.... I hate these decisions.
