First Saturn Image - advice wanted

Posted By Michael Israel

Greg, the only thing about the settings that stands out as unusual to me is the fps rate--25 fps results in loss of resolution with the Toucam. Stick to 5 or 10 fps instead.

Robert, really nice image! Looks like it was shot from a pretty dark sky location? This is an unusual subject for a digicam. I'll put it on my to do list.

LPR Filters

Orion Skyglow filter is a reasonable alternative-- the 2" is on sale for $60.

Ed, that's one really nice Saturn image! Can I ask what you are using with your LX90 to get f35? Thanks.

FSQ or NP101is

Posted By Michael Israel

Either scope would be a great choice. My vote is for the NP101is. You can't beat Televue's support and service. I've had an NP101 for 3 years and love it for both visual and imaging with a DSLR. The "is" version is even better, with improved rear lens element and focuser. The NP101is also weighs less than the Tak. Here is an image taken with my NP101 and Canon Rebel XT:

How to use Canon XS bulb setting???

Posted By Michael Israel

David your XS came with the EOS Utility software that will allow you to program bulb exposures using your computer and the camera's usb cable. You can program the number, duration and interval between exposures. The EOS Utility user manual explains how. I believe the manual is on the supplied software disk or can be downloaded from Canon USA.
