I have a geometry problem for those of you who would like to tackle it. See attached photo. What is the best way to determine the angle of the diagonal board so that the sides of the diagonal board hit the corners of the gate exactly?

AT66ED on a Televue Panoramic Mount

I have never used alt-az mounts before. How would I go about mounting my AT66ED to a Televue Panoramic mount? How would it attach to the cradle? I ask because I am interested in purchasing a Panoramic mount now and plan on upgrading to a larger refractor (perhaps TV76) later on. In the mean time, I'd like to make sure I could use my AT66 on a Panoramic. Thanks for your help!

Has anyone used a Televue Bino Vue with a Televue 76 or 85 on a Panoramic mount? I am just wondering how well that set-up functions: vibrations, stability, range of power, etc. Thanks for any insight!

Binoviewers vs. binoscopes

It was probably 5 years ago now that I had my first look through a binoviewer. I don't think I can ever go back to single-eye observing again.
That said, I am looking to put together a bino system that is as "grab and go" as possible. Should I opt for a telescope/binoviewer assembly (like a TV85 and binovue)? Or a binocular system like Vixen's BT81S-A?

Half Hitch Mounts without slow-motion controls?

Has anyone used one of the new Half Hitch mounts, like the FTQ, that do not feature slow motion controls? What is your assessment on having to move the scope manually with a control arm rather than by turning a slow-motion knob? Thanks!

Planets through an Astro-Tech 72mm scope

I am wondering what kind of views AstroTech's AT72ED provides of the planets. With a maximum suggested 100x, would any features be substantially resolvable? I'm sure I would be able to distinguish Jupiter's two primary cloud belts and Saturn's rings, but I'm wondering if I could expect more beyond that. I have only observed through an 8" scope and was thinking of getting a smaller grab-and-go scope. Thanks!

AstroTech AT72 drawtube slipping

I have an AT72ED--a beautiful little scope. Unfortunately the focuser drawtube has started to slip. I have tried adjusting the focuser thumbscrew, but I can only get it to either completely lock the drawtube in place or allow it to slip (especially with a heavy load like a binovue). Does anyone have any recommendations for how to rectify the problem? I would rather not take the whole thing apart blind. Thanks!

Calculating exit pupil with a binovue

I have a Televue Binovue with the 2x corrector. I would like to calculate the exit pupil. Let's say for example that I have a f/5 scope and a 10mm eyepiece. So I would do 10/5=2mm exit pupil. But with a 2x corrector would I divide this again by 2 to yield a 1mm exit pupil?
