Registax problems

Hi,

Any beta testers out there for Registax? I have a ton of single (individual images) to combine and process that were taken with SKYnyx 2-2 mono. Everytime I get to the STACK procedure in Registax I get an error message after it runs about a second.

Access violation at address 004CF15 in module RegiSTax3D.EXE. Read of addressd 00000020

I am using 3.0.1.24 and the previous version fails as well. I have plenty of computer horsepower and RAM, WinXP with the latest SP, so that's not the problem. I haven't had a problem in the past with my Atik 1HS II camera but those were .AVI files.

Are there any other alternitives software wise?

Any help would be appreciated,

Sorry, I wasn't sure WHERE to post this message. I'm curious how good the visual observing and imaging would be in Cary North Carolina from a Astronomical perspective. Anyone have a clue? My daughter is moving there and trying to get me to move as well.

Hi,

I need some expert advice here please. Is there a special eyepiece wrench available to take out the retaining ring in a eyepiece instead of using a jewelers screw driver? I found a really sweet mint Tasco 7-TE5 in a antique store and wish to clean up the eyepices and 3x barlow. They look like they have never been used but could use a cleaning. The main objective is perfectly clean. Any tips and tricks on cleaning would be appreciated too. Oh, is there a correct orientation on the eyepiece lens after I take it out? In other words could I put it in upside down? I was amazed how sharp this little pup is while viewing the moon tonight.

This is the best image I have taken so far with my MK91 since its arrival on Friday. I realized it's not the best image to be positng here. It was taken with a Atik 1HS II and a 2.5x Powermate in my light polluted back yard. I have processed and manipulated it to death with Registax, ImagesPlus and of course Photoshop. Is there another way of stacking images that perhaps would sharpen this up or do you think it's simply out of foucus and a atmospheric problem?

Hi,

Tried my luck again tonight in my light polluted backyard. Seeing was rated at good 4/5 and transparency was below average at 2. MK-91, no Barlow and my Atik 1HS II.

Intest MN56 - Mount(?)

Need some help please,

I have a mint MN56 with "outstanding optics". I was thinking that I might try and sell it to my brother-in-law, as he is looking for a "first scope"! The only problem is he will need a mount for it. I know nothing about mounts except my G-11 and the Parallax HD-150. Have an idea what I might look for that will do the job? He won't be doing any imaging whatsoever, like never. He is 6'2" tall if that helps. Is there anything availabe with tracking (or without) that isn't to expensive? A wooden, or used mount/tripod is fine too. Oh, I've used it on my G-11, so it has a dovetail mount now. It doesn't have rotating rings if that matters but does have Parallax OTA rings.

UPDATE:

I should of mentioned that I'm looking for something inexpensive that will do the job visually as he will NEVER do any imaging! Anything over $500, new or used, would be out of the question for a mount.
