I've got the 3 vane for my 10" project...

Floyd (and friends),

I can totally see your frustration - it seems to me that there are poeple who claim they "know" what they are talking about (and they very well may be an expert - I'm not criticizing their knowledge in any way here) are very quick to correct or comment (usually in a less than positive fashion) on someone else's efforts to share an experience, observation, or review but are very reluctant to do the leg work and post a review themselves. That can make anyone want to keep their work to themselves. Share your knowledge, help others, but don't be so harsh in your efforts to add your .02 to the review after the fact.

There are those that have the common sense to read a review in its entirety, get a grip on the context and intent of the review, and appreciate one's effort that was spent to perform such a task.

There are dozens of us here that appreciate what Floyd and other contributers or reviews have to offer. We know that our views and experiences will be different - after all we all don't have the same identical telescope (no two mirrors are the same), with the exact same eyepiece (no two pieces of glass or their coatings are exactly the same), and the exact same viewing conditions and locations.

If you cease to post your reviews you'll be doing more harm than good in my opinion but, we'll still respect you just the same... you'll just get a lot more PM from all of us with questions

...Or you could just submit the review only in the review portion of AM and hit the button on any posts that talk about it here... lol Have some fun!

Please note for us what type of scope is being used -

How big a scope?
What focal ratio?
Along with that information - I'd like to hear how it frames M81 & M82...
What about the veil with an Oiii?
Or M8 and M20?
If you're up late try the double cluster...

Obviously if it's an f10 the results will be different than an f4.5 but with all of the information it can help put things in perspective for the rest of us...

Be sure to let us know if a Parracor is used too.

Any chance of having two of them out there and a binoviewer?

Check local astronomy clubs in your area - donate to the one that holds the most public outreach programs... Or consider donating to a community college astronomy program.

I applaud you for considering to donate your equipment to help open up the wonders of the heavens to those that could not afford to do so themselves.

If you cannot find a suitable recipient then I guess you could sell here on AM... but I think your accountant and the karma police would prefer you donate to a good organizaiton!
