Venus From Cloudy New Orleans

Posted By Tom Tripi

Used a hand held Sony 3.3 Camedia and a TV 85 - had about 4 minutes before the clouds, fog and light rain took over the horizon.

Bob….I somewhat “collect” cognacs; have about 25 right now; I only drink one snifter a night…maybe two tonight! On a very still night(a good planet night!) I’ll pour a snifter and set it on my observing table to sip during a session….the aroma of a quality cognac fills the air…it amazing! To my taste, three cognacs top my list 1. Meukow XO (NO QUESTION); 2. Pierre Ferrand Selection des Anges, (both gifts from my wife) and 3. Pierre Ferrand Reserve. For me, a distant fourth would be a Kelt vsop or Hardy vsop….the bottom line is that astronomy and fine cognac were made for each other. As I noted, I observe 70 percent of the time at my house….but my dark site is 10 miles up the road (can see m33 there on good nights). The only problem with the dark site is that I will not consume even one cognac and drive home after a session!!!!!!!!!….tom
