Judiciary Chairman On NY Trial

Leahy on C-SPAN told me not to be afraid and bin Laden didn't need to be interrogated when captured. It is difficult to defend this trial and look good. Leahy has faded almost as much as Pelosi. Was he just having a bad day? Who could watch this interview and say he should be re-elected?

We are on the razor's edge now and the interest on our debt is very low. Rates will go up. Five per cent on twelve trillion is six hundred billion a year. The way Congress is spending we will soon be paying interest on twenty trillion. That's one trillion per year.

The price of oil is headed up. One hundred dollar oil will have a big impact on our economy. We still have people laughing at the thought of developing our own oil. They think drill baby drill is funny. They also think a new trillion dollar entitlement is no problem. Borrow and spend. Live for today.

Former CBO Director Douglas Holtz-Eakin shows how the Dems gamed the CBO. The CBO is required to take legislation at face value and not determine the plausibility.

The legislation will raise, not lower deficits by $562 billion and we will be on the hook for a rapidly expanding program.

The deficit is already expected to exceed at least $700 billion a year over the next decade doubling the debt to more than $20 trillion. In ten years the deficit is expected to be $1.2 trillion.

This legislation increases this debt but I think most supporters would support the bill if it cost 50% more.

Washington will spend $31,406 per household in 2010. It will collect $18,276 per household in taxes. The $13,130 represents this year's budget deficit per household, an increase of $5,000 since 2008.

Too many people are saying we can fix this by raising taxes.
