I'm looking to upgrade from my classic C8 that I use for astrophotography to a 9.25" or C11. I have squeezed about as much planet detail out of my C8 that I can and I'm looking for more aperture. I have read reviews that say the 9.25 is designed just for astrophotography, but I see a lot of them for sale after the owners have purchased a larger scope. What ever I wind up with will be mounted on a CG-5 advanced Go-To. Any thoughts on the matter?

I've got a quick question about the tripods for the CGEM and CG-5 goto mounts. Are they the same tripod and would the CGEM head work on a CG-5 tripod? I know Celestron beefed up the tripod from 2" to 2.75" for the DX but the tripods for the CG-5 and CGEM look the same.

Trying to install nexImage on my PC because I no longer have the laptop it was originally installed on. When I load the installation disc, it gives me a Menu has stopped working window and identifies the problem as Appcrash. I had problems installing the drivers for this camerea on my laptop, but at least it would open the installation disc. Help, computer challenged in Texas.

I have been trying to shoot MOV files of Jupiter and they come out overexposed. Has anyone else had this problem? In the past they came out fine, but now Jupiter is too bright to work with. Using a Canon T1i on the back of my C11 with eyepiece projection and a 15mm eyepiece, In the movie mode, how do you change the exposure and ISO? I thought this was automatic. What about automatic exposure lock and am I changing the exposure when I focus? Any help would be appreciated, even knowledge of a Canon user group forum.

Purchased my new CGEM just over a month ago and all worked great until this morning. I woke up the scope around 03:00 local time and slewed to Jupiter. Before I could do anything else, the scope took off in Declination and slewed for another 15 degrees or so about every 10 seconds. It kept doing this, completing a full circle until I shut it off. It does this regardless of what I slew to or even if I try to do an alignment. So far I have checked my power cord and made sure it was secure in the socket, reset to the factory settings and tried another handset. The one thing that makes a difference is to hit one of the direction keys after it slews to an object. Hitting it just once makes everything work normally. Any one heard of this before?

I downloaded the EOS Movie Record from SourceForge and can't get it to work with my Canon T1i. It did not work initially, but worked for two test shots today. Now I can't get it to work again. It flashes cannot initialize the Live View mode or Camera not recognized or reconnect power cord across the bottom of the screen. I've changed power cords, disconnected and reconnected the power cord and even unloaded the program and reloaded it, still nothing.
Anyone have experience with this problem?
