Cass Sunstein, administrator of the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, said that 26 agencies submitted more than 500 rules whose deletion either saves money or reduces red tape for businesses.

Sunstein pointed out that the Office of Budget Management has estimated the cost of "economically significant" rules as higher during the Bush administration's tenure in 2007 and 2008 than during the first two years of the Obama administration in 2009 and 2010.
However, most of the new legislation Congress passed, such as health care and Wall Street reforms -- which will usher in thousands of new rules -- just started going into effect in 2011.

Get rid of 500, add thousands. Do the math.

There's a reason I don't agree with these huge government funded Maginot Lines of public transportation such as the light rail system.
The private sector will always provide a more interesting solution to the public than the government.

Actually, I agree with him completely.
Who is the high school drop out supposed to blame when they can't find a job? Who is one actually supposed to blame because they haven't worked to develop marketable skills. Who does one blame when they've made a good living working for some manufacturing company and felt they didn't need to aquire further education in case their company goes belly up? Who does one blame because they didn't "save for a rainy day", because they thought running some screw machine on an assembly line would last forever.

We've gone from, Ask not what your country can do for you, to, I deserve money from the government.

The problem with liberalism, is sooner or later, you run out of other people's money. California is a prime example.
