Question about emission line filters.

With the narrow band filters you would only take a SII; Ha; OIII, and combine them as a RGB. There are different band width for these filters out there. The lower the number on the filter the narrower the band, the less light it will let in.

Astronomers Hurricane Charley Relief Fund - HELP

I feel as one of the lucky ones from this dissaster. Hurricane Charley was tracking to hit land 8 miles from my house. Many people can not understand what a Cat4 Hurricane can do or what it means. I know that everyone has heard of Hurrican Andrew and what damge that storm did. Think about this Hurrican Andrew at 135mph winds did a huge amount of damage. Well Hurricane Charley was at 144mph. That is a tremendous difference. Just think if you had 9" more of apeture to work with.

Well enough said. Here is a link to one of the local radio stations that took some pictures of the area hit. These were taken from a Helicoptor.

Take a look and see what a 144mph Hurricane does to an area 30 miles out from the center.

PEMPro 1.10 available for all AP mounts with PEM

Just a short note on PemPro

I have an Ap 1200 mount and running PemPro I find that it has an actual PER
of -3.9/+3.5 arc seconds. And a nice smooth curve.
Maybe getting one from the new run should not be done? That is another
story

After using PemPro to program the mount last night my new Periodic Error is
+0.4/-0.5 arc seconds

I think that I may even get it better with some more knowledge of the program and the parameters of it

Almost nothing anymore.

Looks very nice,

The temp here last night dropped from 60 to 37 in two hours. And the wind was up too. Talk about difficulties in focuing too

"Keitel Adapter" for FS-60C

The new shorter FS-60c is great for visual and one can use a Binoviewer on it now. However when one wants to connect a Reducer/Corrector with a metal back distance of 72.3mm ( http://www.aajonahfish.com/measurements.htm ) there will not be enough focuser travel if you are at the correct distance. This adaptor, was made to fit between the Reducer/Corrector and scope, extending the lenght of the FS-60c. This enables the user to have enough travel distance in the focuser to move it properly.

In the enclosed image the part between the camera rotator and Reducer/corrector is the "keitel" adaptor. I had them put a diamond patter in the adaptor so your hands will not slip on it when you want to loosen it.

If you were watching Qcom back then- it did go to $800 then had a 4 for one split

A $32k investment in Qcom in 1998 was worth 1.8 million in April 2000
