Then meathead down in Texas decides he'd chime in and double down since he's no more informed than are you.

You now have egg on your face, since your gotcha' moment failed miserably.

Tell me something does being a pompous ass run in the family?

What I mean to ask is did your mother and father teach you to be a pompous ass or did you learn how to be one all on your own?  tongue
It would have been so much easier for you to simply admit, when we all brought it up, that if Trump were taking HCQ as a prophylactic, it obviously did not work.  No gottcha here.  Ya stepped in it again Rich, all by yourself, and your continued spin, or bringing up my folks etc. is not going to help.

Hi Darian:

This does not sound like your usual level of confidence, please correct me if I am wrong.  But are you feeling that Trump's reelection is less likely than it was a few weeks or months ago?  Not a loaded question by the way.  I'm genuinely curious.

You have me pegged perfectly, and I certainly do not take that as a criticism!  J

However, when you put your little regular snide commentary, implying that I didn't know what word I was using, I felt the need to slap you down, sort of like when I told James that he was bitch slapped when Hilary lost, I thought you deserved a bitch slapping yourself!  LOL  smile

Hence my reasoning there for calling you out.

The lefty crew here isn't worth joking with because they have no sense of humor, just hate and anger.

I'm sure they're all Ok guys to go out and have a beer with, and probably funny and entertaining as well, If they didn't get into politics.

Then it might be a bitch slapping fest all around!!    ROFL  tongue
You’re consistent at least.  Not that it matters, but I didn’t make any Kayleigh remarks, rude or otherwise.

I couldn't even get some on this forum to take the pandemic seriously in the 1st quarter, as they mindlessly regurgitated trump and Fox talking points. Are you going to make me look it up and repost some? Yes, that caused deaths as this played out millions of times all across America.

We still do not have sufficient masks or testing or tracing that would have a real impact on the pandemic, and we are right in the middle of it with little to show for it.

Is this really Jim I'm talking to? That's almost a serious question.

Russ
Hi Russ:

Well, you have given me pause.

Still, I literally don’t know anyone whom I believe is influenced by Trump to the degree you are talking about.  I know several mask averse folks.  Some at work, a few socially.  It is a small minority of friends and no family, but like those on the forum, they really seem to be making up their own minds.  I can’t imagine Greg or Darian being hard core social distancers no matter what Trump’s rhetoric might be.

I hope you understand that I’m saying this without approving of Trumps rhetoric.  His tweets today are incredibly irresponsible.

Also, I have to call out the shift in your own rhetoric.  I probably would not have replied if you had said that Trump’s failure of leadership had cost lives.  Instead you called him the greatest mass murderer in American history. I’m  rightfully accused of being pedantic by some close to me, but I think in this instance I am justified.

Yes, Russ is completely sane.  We've politely disagreed about some things.  Not surprising that you would have a problem with polite disagreement.

Perhaps you don't have very good perception as you have quite a bit of TDS yourself, which really is a syndrome.

You probably don't recognize it in yourself.
Nice spin.  Russ and I are polite to each other in our disagreement.  Our politeness is carried upon a foundation of respect that has been built over several years.  You have absolutely no interest in respecting others, or being respected, so I would not expect you to understand.

Rich, it is soooo easy to respect those who agree with you.  It takes maturity and an inquiring mind to respect contrary opinions and respect those who hold them.  I think this is a fundamental problem with modern society.

You, of course, are our own poster-child for the titanium-clad opinion-bubble culture, and fortunately you are relatively harmless.  But the President himself is incapable of showing the slightest bit of respect to those who have honest disagreements with him, or their ideas.  This is a significant problem and perhaps the primary reason I can not support him.

Bottom line is this thing has to run its course unless a vaccine is produced that eliminates the issue.....a small percentage of the population is going to die from it until that happens. It is just a sad fact. No amount of mask hysteria, breast thumping and virtue signaling its going to change that fact.
Hi Greg:

I personally don't think mask wearing is going to be a thing in perpetuity.

On the other hand, the rapid spread of CV19 through the White House staff is instructive.  This is dramatic evidence that masks make a significant difference.  So, I'd like to see everyone wear masks around others and in public until the pandemic is stopped or runs its course.  Nothing new there.  Most of the Governors have implemented mask mandates, and at least here in Colorado, I am seeing pretty much everyone following the rules.

I agree that a percentage is going to get sick and die whether or not we all wear masks.  But wearing a mask is a minor inconvenience, and since the practice along with hand washing, distancing, and working from home if possible reduces the number of sick and dead it absolutely is worth the minor inconvenience.

I sure hope Goldman is right!  By the way, I love Trump's flip flop on CV19 stimulus and so does the market.  That tweet yesterday was really stupid, assuming Trump is not "throwing" the election.
