Although I have seen reports from those who perform interrogations that the information obtained from torture was useless, can anyone provide us with substantial information that the techniques in question (water boarding, applying biting insects, etc) was successful in gaining information that has protected our national security? Cheney says it has but he says a lot of things that have been debunked(9/11 connections with Iraq and Al Queda and Saddam, disproven by the 9/11 commission and the Pentagon).
So if we tortured, what was gained if the information obtained was useless?

I don't have any sympathy for these guys but I do have a question.
Did it work?
I mean did they get Osama Bin Laden?
What information did they obtain that saved American lives?
Was it the 266 waterboarding that was the straw that broke the camel's back?
Just curious as to the effectiveness of the technique(s) in question...
