Public Option: States Can Opt Out

Posted By Rod Kaufman

A new twist that includes the public option but allows a state to opt out of it is now taking shape:
http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2009/10/26/breaking-reid-backs-health-care-public-option/
Perhaps those tea baggars might want their medicare and social security on the option of a state by state basis as well! Fat chance!!!

Obama, it's time to decide

Posted By Rod Kaufman

Realistically, I don't see any decisions being made until after the November 7th elections in Afghanistan. At that point, Obama will know if the Afghan government is worth saving or not. IMO, that's the time the decision will be made.

Selective Amnesia

Dick Cheney's classic defense at work: "I don't recall!"
http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/10/31/cheney.plame/index.html
So his chief of staff takes the fall for him and he whines to Bush about not fully absolving Libby!
Classic Cheney! And the jerk has the the nerve to complain about Afghanistan, of all places, when both he and George screwed it up for 8 years!
It's no wonder only 20% of the country approve of the Republicans...

Thank God, Private Insurers Protected

Posted By Rod Kaufman

Only about two percent of Americans will be able to opt for the public option for health care, but even though that's STILL TOO MUCH for private insurers, rest assured they will be protected and there's no government take over!!!
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20091031/ap_on_bi_ge/us_health_care_public_plan
Thank God for the Republican plan summed up in one word: "No", just like the response of the insurance industry in the above link!
Blue Shield, that got kicked out of the high risk pool in California a few weeks ago for gouging, WILL BE PROTECTED. Thank God, afterall they earned it!!!
Now all we have to do is to have the tea bag crowd burn their medicare and social security cards and we will all be safe from the threat of communism, socialism, and Marxism for decades to come!

The Stimulus Revisited

Posted By Rod Kaufman

First, jobs:
http://money.cnn.com/2009/10/30/news/economy/Stimulus_jobs_created/index.htm?postversion=2009103020
and
http://money.cnn.com/2009/10/30/news/economy/when_will_jobs_return/index.htm?postversion=2009103011
next the GDP:
http://money.cnn.com/video/fortune/2009/10/30/f_sl_recovery_illusion.fortune/
The latter being preceded by a commercial but worth the wait.
So, despite what such world authorities in the Astromart might have to say, it appears there's a lot of good coming from the stimulus with more to come...

The GOP Health Care Proposal Arrives!

Posted By Rod Kaufman

If you haven't seen it yet, don't worry because you already know what's in it:
1. Health Care savings account. Oh yeah, the same BS from Bush and McCain resurrected yet again. Geez, they just won't let a bad proposal die!
2. Oh great, you can pay the about the same for private health care insurance across state lines just as you can for gasoline. Swell!
3. The ultimate GOP formula for health care: tort reform!
It just gets better: here's what you don't get:
1. You got a pre-existing condition? You're, as always, screwed!
2. Think you're going to get insurance from a new employer? Come on! This is the GOP. Get with the program!
3. Insurance and security in your health care? See items 1 and 2.
4. The cost? To be figured later(of, course).
